Worst place of "work" ever

Pros

Free coffee and tea in the breakroom.

Cons

Unprofessional, unorganized, unethical, ineffeicient, and absolutely the most toxic place of employment. You go to the "interview", expecting a one-on-one interview with a CEO but instead you are just being sold the job and being pushed into this marketing consultant position. They try to glamourize the position but in reality you're making cold calls in a small office from 9-5 and not being paid. You're promoting their business and not getting a penny out of it. They promise you a 6 figure salary if you continue to work hard and follow their "law of large numbers", but in reality you're just wasting your time and working for them for free. Even the people that have been there for over a year are not making a sustainable amount of money yet they are so brainwashed they do not see that they are being taken advantage of and could make way more money working a full-time job with an hourly wage. Leaving was the best decision I ever made; do not fall trap to their promises of wealth and luxury.

“We are sorry that you feel that way” Our interview process has radically changed over the last few years and all candidates will get a one on one experience with one of our Executives or Senior Associates in the firm. I can assure you that no one here ever promises a six-figure salary to anyone that starts at the firm. We are in a 100% commission based business and we get paid by helping clients to save money and get better benefits and that is why clients come on board with our firm. The more clients that we help then the better our consultants do financially. We have the utmost respect for each and every one of our team members and we hope that is shown in the way we take care of our team. In fact earlier this year we took a trip with our top consultants for 2017 to Europe and have organized various team building activities including sporting events, dinners, happy hours, and other fun activities.

Pros

I really don't know that there are any...I guess the office building comes stocked with free coffee and on Fridays there are doughnuts and bagels

Cons

-Full time job with no base salary -No sick days, vacations days, etc. -Mandatory un-paid meetings/"training sessions" every week that are repetitive and condescending in nature -No opportunity for growth -Little to no transparency about where the company is headed -No health insurance or any benefits at all -Zero assistance or training in obtaining your license. You would think the mandatory hour and half long training sessions once a week would be a good place to do this, but instead they focus on the power of positive thinking to achieve your goals -You are expected to make at least 1,500 calls a week -Extremely sexist and misogynistic work environment. Very inappropriate comments are made by both your co-workers and upper management, so there is a "boy's club" culture with no recourse in which to express any grievances -Little guarantee that any of your deals will close -The job description you applied for is likely not the one you will be doing. Therefore, no honesty about what your actual position entails

Please see our most current job posting that will address 90% of your grievances. We are completely transparent with what we do and what the position entails. There is no base salary and it is a 100% commission based position. Our consultants are independent contractors and therefore in charge of their own time and schedule. There are no mandatory hours. All meetings and trainings are 100% optional. Since Consultants are independent they are responsible for their own health insurance benefits. Our senior consultants help train and mentor new consultants in the business based on their prior experience and results. We have Zero tolerance for any Sexist remarks and inappropriate comments. Any Consultants whether it be past or present found violating this have and will not be involved with United AMG. We are an equal opportunity employer and promote safety within our company. Unfortunately we have never heard of any business that guarantees that you will close business. We do have strategies that save clients on average 15%-20% of their health insurance premiums and the back end support and account management team that makes sure that they get the service and support that they deserve and that is why clients move forward with our firm. In 2017, out of 15,000 brokers we were rated the number 1 agency in the state of California for new business with the largest general agency in the country.

Pros

If you are a believer of law of large numbers, this job might be for you. This job is based on work ethics purely. The more harder you work, the more you are "suppose" to earn. There is no contract, so you may leave anytime you want.

Cons

Continuing with the concept of law of large numbers and work ethics, you can try to make cold calls for a living until you are able to gain any clients and hope they close the deal. And while you are at it, you aren't gaining anything at all. You are NOT provided with any benefits and you will struggle financially in the first few months. Their weekly meetings are longer than usually planned and they teach you how to categorize people in a discriminating manner, such as gender and social class. If you want to boost your ego to a whole new level, this is a place for you. You will question the duration of time of getting a stable income and be stresses over working full time to make as much sales as possible.

We would agree that anyone deciding on a career choice in a field that is 100% commission should “Think Financially first” before they start as it can take some time to learn the business and build up a client base. We are in a 100% commission based business and we get paid by helping clients to save money and get better benefits and that is why clients come on board with our firm. The more clients that we help then the better our consultants do financially. Our consultants are independent contractors and therefore in charge of their own time and schedule. There are no mandatory hours. All meetings and trainings are 100% optional. Since Consultants are independent they are responsible for their own health insurance benefits. Our main goal is to give our consultants a system that is proven and delivers results by us helping clients with their health insurance issues. We strive to help them achieve whatever career goals they have for themselves whether that be financial freedom or just freedom of time.
