Pros
Technical team is phenomenal. Highly skilled and driven individuals who all genuinely care about doing the best they can. Immediate and higher tier managers (that still work with technical team) are certified humans and will work with you as best they can. If you join the technical team, you will likely be exposed to nearly every vendor under the sun.
Cons
Complacent upper management demands more effort and results without addressing crippling business practice issues with non-technical teams. While the technical team is robust, other non-technical teams struggle to maintain consistent work for the business, which panics upper management. They ask for more and more effort from technical teams and set completely impossible/unprecedented goals while absolutely critical changes needed elsewhere are never brought up. All workplaces have inter-office drama, and USI certainly suffers from it. Sometimes highly skilled individuals come with inflated egos and rigidity, unfortunately.
