Pros
-Paid time off for 10 national holidays. -Compressed work week schedule allows you to work 9 hour days to get every other Friday off. -Reasonable benefits package (HDP+HSA). -Friendly coworkers. -Fun company activities three times per year, with an open bar at two of them.
Cons
-Below average salaries. -Bad work/life balance. Culture of uncompensated overtime due to unreasonable deadlines. PTO maxes out at 15 days/year after working for three years. -Client projects tend to use outdated tools and methodologies, forcing employees to follow suit. -No opportunities for professional development or learning. -Minimal education reimbursement. You may be able to get them to pay for a class or two, if you're lucky. -No pathways for career advancement. Expect to be in the same role, performing the same function for years. -High achievers go unrecognized. You're just another employee logging hours to the management. -Nepotism. -Don't be surprised if you have to take PTO during inclement weather, even if it's a state of emergency. -No protection from unreasonable client expectations. -Lack of sick leave for the longest time resulted in sick coworkers coming in and infected others. Minimal sick leave was finally offered this year (four days) but is scheduled to be reduced.
