Worst company I’ve ever work for in my short career.
Pros
There are no best reasons to work at UniversalPromo.
Cons
On day one, I was pointed to my desk and told to learn a script and how to use the CRM Goldmine. No training, I was just told to do it and make sales. The people on the manufacturing floor were affraid of the owner who used intimidation to manage his team. It was common to see people crying during their lunch break. We were not allowed to leave the building after we got there, so no going to your car or leaving for lunch. The owner used this as another way to dominate his team. This was my first experience in sales. I hope I never have another job like this or an abusive owner to work with. I was told the owner gives out gift certificates for company promo and Cub gift cards as a way to make up for his shortcomings. I never received those in my short time there. After I left I found out that a number of employment agencies in the Metro will not take his business. The owner only uses employment agencies to make it easier to fire people. The turnover in sales was incredible. Over the last 10+ years, the owner has gone through more than 50 sales rep’s. He only uses 2 - 3 rep’s at any one time, so that turnover is extremely high. Somebody should talk to the EEOC to stop the abuse that goes on at UniversalPromo. I cannot imagine any of it legal.
