Pros

- Paid Healthcare - Some positions remote

Cons

Where to begin... From day one I knew accepting this job was not smart but the current economy makes you do things you'd never do. I left over concern of losing my NMLS license over the unethical practices we were instructed daily to render and they hide behind the "HEAs are not regulated but we are doing our best" ? Members from this team have been asked to submit files while being out on sick leave, employees being harassed over the use of protected sick time, managers cursing out teams on the floor within hearing distance of other HEOs on the phone with clients. Within the last 6 months we witnessed numerous team members quit out of frustration. The ENTIRE servicing team quit and they tried to act like nothing happened? Wonder if clients or investors are even aware of the practices the company they believe in . Most troubling is The People Team. Just read the responses to previous reviews to see exactly what we have dealt with. People Ops deliberately hide complaints of racism, retaliation, hostile work environment, etc in order to protect toxic managers. Several employees had to resort to recording all communications with all members of management just to ensure accuracy and was able to catch flat out lies from this team ! Ironically enough People Ops changed the policy guide earlier this year after a run of complaints and threats of lawsuits apparently made them realize how unethical the previous version was. Now let's be clear, Unlock does not consent to audio recordings but this is a AZ based company where the real law allows for one party disclosure. Basically, no matter what they try to threaten you with know your rights because you can record them and should at all times. When "HR" becomes the office bully it is only a matter of time before the lawsuits start rolling in. All upper management are friends from previous companies and it shows. There is no fair treatment unless you fit in their box and that's an exact quote from People Ops. If you need income then move forward but if you have other options I'd highly recommend taking those instead.

Great benefits, the director in phx is great he tries hard to improve process. Casual environment, great snacks, Its a great product that is needed in this time. Small company feel so your not a number. People team is very involved and tries to help. The company is trying their best to succeed. This is why I am giving this company 4 stars.

The VP is very disconnected, not a lot of money to make, leadership doesn't seem to connect that the issues are is the leadership. Lack of communication, although they are trying.

Pros

Decent base salary They pay for your health insurance

Cons

This company is a mess. Sales team retention is terrible, with over half leaving in a year. Leadership shows no interest in improving the work environment to retain employees. The company’s organization and structure are lacking. Leadership is very buddy buddy with each other, as they all originated from the same company. This is why tough decisions never get made. They tolerate bad behavior from entry-level sales to the C-suite, which pushes top performers away. Finally, the people team consistently sides with leadership, never employees. I know this from personal experience and multiple firsthand accounts.

Thank you for your review. We continue to learn and grow as a company and that does include implementing accountability models and metrics that will help drive the organization and best support our homeowners. At times, this can lead to turnover, but in no way did we attrit over half our Sales division. Leadership is working hard with our team members to partner on new ways to engage and foster the culture and we'll continue to do that going forward. If you have some specific examples that you'd like to share I'd be happy to listen and see what is possible. As for our People Team. Please understand that that HR serves as a dual advocate; we do not over-index on one side or the other. There are instances where our leaders need guidance and course correction on certain matters, and there are instances where our team members need guidance and course correction. We look impartially at each scenario with an emphasis on the facts on both side of the situation. If you were involved in a situation with People Ops where you felt the outcome wasn't fair, then you already know we have a "problem-solving process" when you can raise any issues. Since you're no longer with us, You're welcomed to contact me directly to share your experience. Again, thank you for your review. Heather.Bailey@unlock.com
