Immense Disappointment

Pros

Neat work environment, lunch paid for 1 day a week, decent benefits and friendly employees.

Cons

- Countless empty promises; from the 1st interview to this very moment. Talks of increase in pay, bonuses, and an environment conducive to professional growth. Rather - I sit waiting for the imbecile supervisor I've been given to do his bidding: meaning EVERYTHING. Guy does nothing until an exec asks him to do something, outsources anything complicated, and is the source of any and all disorganization within the companies current best practices within the technology setup. - After the 1st month, the company decreased their contribution to employee benefits. - Employer does not match anything for 401k contributions.

Would be surprised if they last 6 more months...

Pros

It's really too bad upper management doesn't appreciate the kind of hard-working editorial and social staff they have. The people who do the day-to-day lifting are the heart and soul of this operation and without them, this company would've gone under long ago.

Cons

I'd advise anyone considering working here to run in the opposite direction. The company is completely mismanaged and upper management doesn't know what they are doing at all. The brand has changed at least 5 times since I started. They have no idea who they want to be and hemorrhage money on all the wrong things (and people). I'd be surprised if Uproxx was still around in 6 months. There's absolutely no communication from management on anything. They take complete advantage of contract employees and they lay people off without a thought.

Pros

Great Studio with real film makers and expert screenwriters Free snacks and a frig full of beer Great office and location Fun people to work with

Cons

O&O Media platforms are not priority and unfortunately, that is what will keep the lights on No marketing support that can think beyond video and social extensions No consistent leadership Unrealistic expectations for growth in a dynamic ad market
