Pros

clothes are great coworkers at the same level were nice

Cons

Entire staff quit 2 weeks into my employment, about a month before the actual store opening Franchise manager bought 20 boxes of warehouse rejects and made us sort through them all and wouldnt listen to our opinions that the clothes weren't fashionable or our complaints that the smell coming off of them was so strong some of us couldnt be in the same room as them Was told I was the slowest at tagging clothes by management but when asking same-level employees they insisted this was false "Donations" were actually just tossed into the back room until we could figure out to do with them, so we had a huge pile of clothes in trash bags in the middle of our back room Owner kept insisting everything had to be a certain way because she was a scorpio "Cant you tell??? :)" Lunch breaks were cut from an hour to 15 minutes across the board (unless you were a manager) about a month in When the entire staff was being trained on cash register by corporate, I was continuously pulled out of training and then told to never be near a register by the owner after corporate left, was never given a reason for that

Pros

-Amazing staff, made a ton of friends working here -You get to take a first look at everything that comes in

Cons

Oh boy here we go -Upper management is horrible, the owner is constantly rude and manipulative. For some reason she has expected us to have sold out soul to Uptown Cheapskate. For example, she will come into the store and start talking at us saying that we are unorganized, talking too much, and acting lazy, even when we are incredibly busy and working as hard as we all can. The manager at the Allen location is her son in law, and to be honest, he knows nothing about fashion or clothing, but will talk to you like he knows everything and you know nothing, especially if your a female. He is constantly rude and disrespectful to females who work for him, talking right over them when they have anything to say and ignoring their advice to ask a male on staff, even if the male is less qualified to answer it. He constantly shows up to work smelling like he has not showered or tried to perform basic hygiene that day. Here comes the kicker, so basically I worked for them for about 2 years and was their longest running member of staff, I was a manager and was very close with all other members of the staff. One day I come in to be rudely greeted by the owner and she proceeded to tell me that she never wanted me to become manager in the first place (her daughter, a regional manager [who is amazing and kind and understanding] convinced her to promote me) and that I don’t work hard and “am a poor example of leadership to her son” (who also works there). This was unprinted and just out of the blue, so I was like alright, imma work my butt off this next week and things will be chill. So next week rolls around and I get a text from another member of the staff telling me that I’m not on the schedule...... they were planning to firing me and I found out the reason through one of the members of staff, and all that she said is that she was trying to build a new team there. So basically she was planning on firing me because she didn’t like me. She had no actual grounds to do this, it was purely because she has this issue with me, even though I have worked for her for almost 2 years and have been nothing but respectful and kind to her. - Yeah the pay sucks too, 8 an hour to start. Then at one point they offered me to be the store general manager and I was like, hey I’ll do it if you guys give me a raise, and then the owner was like “I guess we’ll be hiring then” and then stormed out the store. I just don’t really understand that one, they were expecting to promote me without giving me a raise and then got mad when I didn’t take it.

Pros

-Maybe the clothing discount? 20% but thats about it.

Cons

Anything and everything. They are ridiculously religious and if you don't go to the same church as them (the owners) you are immediately the outcast. They treat management and employees like crap. When I was working there, the management staff never got paid overtime even if they had to go in because someone called out or needed to go home. Owners would constantly go on family vacations and leave the store understaffed and expect everything to be perfect when they came back. No health benefits for full-time or Salary employees. Unfair treatment and they gossip about employees in their "office" in the back room. Its so ridiculous that someone who quiet frankly busts their buts is so under appreciated, underpaid and talked about poorly because of their religious differences.
