Pros

There are advantages of being part of a young and growing company. You get to work closely with the founders, there are very few levels of management, and you get a lot of individual responsibility. This is all true with UB, in addition to it being a young and pretty relaxed work environment with no vacation policy .

Cons

If you are a good salesperson, beware! BDM or AE its all the same outcome at UB. Yes, you could get exposure to Enterprise size companies, and have unlimited territories and accounts, however this all comes with a cost...All of the employees here are underpaid (not just sales)! Even when you close deals, the companies are not committing to large contracts, which in turn does not pay much commissions. Ask the sales reps who have been there the longest what they W-2'd last year. Its not that impressive. You will be able to make that anywhere. If you are joining a young startup for the equity package, look elsewhere, because you definitely wont get it here! If you want to move up the ladder quickly, this is not the place for you. Once you are hired on, you can expect to stay in that position for a very very long time regardless of your performance. The leadership doesn't like to promote from within, even though they will tell you to hold on and keep doing what you are doing. Which brings me to another point, if you are not on the leadership team, you basically have minimal say or decision making capabilities. The biggest Achilles heel for UB is its ability to execute and move quickly. The leadership does not like spending money, and even though they are sitting on a great idea that has gotten traction from some very large corporations, the product has not changed in a very long time. UB cannot figure out how to build a great product that really solves a problem. Unfortunately, clients will continue to leave, and we will continue to get terrible NPS scores until we are able to provide real value!

Pros

I have worked at a few startups in the past and UrbanBound is by far the best experience I've had. The culture is fantastic and I have a lot of freedom in my day-to-day job. The sales team has a great mixture of both support for one another in successes and then friendly competition that keeps everyone motivated.

Cons

The opportunity for advancement isn't as prominent yet, as we are a flat organization that is growing quickly. There is a lot of room to grow within your role and then eventually (if you're patient) within the company.

Pros

co-workers, location downtown, gym access

Cons

The company used to be filled with great opportunity but has taken major steps back. The work load and expectations put on the individuals here is unrealistic and not maintainable.
