Benefits package is great, days off are ok but are only for the Christian calendar so heaven forbid you want to take a holiday off for some other religion.
Cons
Senior leadership is staffed by predominantly Boomer White Men who frequently walk around the buildings openly discussing their disgust and distaste for their employees. Phrases about women having babies, the lowest paid employees being called entitled brats is thrown about.
Working for USUO has been a great experience. We are surrounded by people who are passionate about what they do and who care about the community. I really enjoy my co-workers and have learned a lot from them. You also get to see a lot of concerts and operas for free. Our new CEO is excellent and is excited to connect with the community.
Cons
As with any non-profit, money does tend to be tight, so staff salaries are on the lower end. Communication between departments can also be difficult.
