Pros

Plenty of line hoses and blankets

Cons

Supervisors are advanced based on their years of service not there Education or knowledge.. During the hiring interview, if they want you, they will promise you everything under the sun. I see many major OSHA violations. Lack of job briefings. Red tags removed from out of service.Equipment. company pretends they have an apprenticeship. Program, however, it's all online and very vague. most equipment is heavily worn and dated. Hand tools are heavily worn. Company expects employees to purchase battery hand tools. Some costing in the thousands of dollars. 401K is 3% matching, that's a joke. No profit sharing. Health insurance cost 8x as my previous employer. This company does not want to advance apprentices, or give them pay raises. This company will not give you a transfer to another yard. My opinion, This company is only a stepping stone or temporary job. They pay no predem. Every few weeks you are put on standby with no compensation and no regards for your weekend plans.

Pros

Decent pay. Decent job. There is a lot to learn.

Cons

Sometimes you're required to work 50+ hours a week. Storm work is required. It can be dangerous. The safety rules aren't about safety but about management flexing and going down an arbitrary checklist. No common sense among management.
