I worked for this company less than 1 week. I left because I don't suffer fools.
This company is tiny for a reason. The owner doesn't know how to build a marketing business and doesn't seem to want to know. If he did, he would hire a talented creative director to raise the bar on behalf of the company and its clients while he got on with attracting larger clients to sell the creative product at higher fees. Instead, he holds a grip as the creative guru while his own work is mediocre. He has built a culture of marketing mediocrity. This, while they maintain a strict adherence to "operations" like job tracking software, file preparation, processes and procedures and forced group lunches. Fine, but none of these things ever made one dime for a client. Yet this is the all-consuming cultural focus here. There's nothing sexy about it and NO client will pay big money for file prep. They can get solid production files anywhere so there is nothing unique here or any competitive advantage. Clients want smart thinking, savvy marketing concepts, and beautiful executions. That stuff sells itself. But that is not the company's strength so it's basically a production house. If you are an aspiring creative professional, this culture can be oppressive and detrimental to the most important fundamentals you require to develop a young creative mind. If you just want to build files, you might love this place.
