Boring work and poor management

Pros

Flexible work hours, especially for part timers. The analyst's area is very friendly and open.

Cons

Full time analysts are under-paid and under-appreciated. Benefits are almost non-existent; basic health insurance, 2 weeks paid vacation per year, and only 3 sick days per year. Many people have left over the years and they don't hire enough people to make up for it which adds to the remaining analysts work load. Management likes to promise things like bonuses and better benefits, but those things never happen. They'll act like your friend and then stab you in the back if you cross them. Lower employees are disposable in their eyes.

Pros

Flexible scheduling to a certain degree.

Cons

Management is over paid while everyone under is underpaid. Too many people getting over paid while the people who actually do most of the work are underpaid and unappreciated. Management talks about how we are a family but when it comes down to it they are quick to let you go. CEO and COO both work from California while the company's HQ is in Iowa and a small office in Minnesota. CEO and COO show their faces at the offices once a month. They talk about how much they appreciating the employees while they get paid to make conference calls and critique everyone. Instead of letting go of people they should take a cut on their salary and move to where the company is based. Do not work here if you plan on making more than what they initially offer you. Bonuses are sweatshirts given at the Christmas party and benefits are bad. Raises are promised but never given. They talk about how good the company is doing but it does not reflect on employee salaries only on theirs. Be careful when applying I will never work for VIDA again. 3 tiers of vacation. all new lower management employees have 10 paid pto/vacation/sick days. Managers or over 4 years employment have 15 days pto/vacation/sick . Management/executives/7+ years have 20+ days of pto/vacation/sick. If I could give management 0 stars I would.

Pros

The people at VIDA are second to none. They work and play hard together, and in general, genuinely enjoy each others company. The work is rewarding as it positively impacts pulmonary care. The leadership team is strong and very accessible. The flexibility is good, providing the opportunity for a good home/work life balance.

Cons

It is a small company, so many times you are expected to wear many hats, which can be exciting and stressful all at the same time. It's a small, nimble company, so it may not be a good fit for individuals who are used to corporate politics or layers of management and approvals. It's a cultural shift for those who are used to big corporations and the pressures that go along with that.
