Minimum salary, no motivation to work harder

Where do I start?! The pay is terrible. Lunch breaks aren't a thing. You have a few minutes to grab something and be back. If you are late coming back, anywhere between 1-15 minutes, they dock you 30mins off your pay. How is that even legal? You have to eat while the kids are napping and prepare artwork for the next day while watching the kids, eating, etc... The owner - - boy oh boy - - she is something. She only cares about vacations and making money. She smokes inside the school. She would close the door but you could still smell the smoke. HOW IS THAT LEGAL????? She isn't helpful and when you ask her something and she makes it seem like you're bothering her. The last thing anyone needs is a boss that huffs and puffs and rolls her eyes at you when you ask a question pertaining to her business and the safety of the kids. She'll sit in her office and watch the cameras when she's bored and find every little thing to pick on. If you're sitting for too long (1 minute) and she catching you, you're getting scolded. The amount of kids in each classroom is just illegal. When the Dept. of Health came for their check-up, we had too many kids in the school for the number of teachers (3 teachers for 110 kids in the morning) and we had to hide kids in the bathroom and shuffle them so the woman wouldn't get a true count. Classrooms have over 30 kids for a teacher and if you're lucky, you'll get some help. Maybe the kitchen lady will help you because they are so short-staffed. If you teach the kids too much, you'll be moved to the baby classroom. I got yelled at once because the teachers in the new school complained that the kids were bored because they learned everything in my Pre-K class. Umm.. this is what I got paid (very little) to do - - teach! OH... and you're not allowed to be friends with the teachers outside of school. it is against the "law" and they make you sign a paper stating you won't. Who hurt you that you won't let anyone be friends? The place is TOXIC and nobody should ever work there. And the manager - - she isn't educated - - from the way she speaks to the kids to the way she writes to the way she does almost anything. How are you the manager of a school and you aren't educated? So many things that puzzle me! SNACKS!! The school provided snacks for the kids and they were stale and old. WHY?? Stop being cheap!
