Absolute worst place to work.

Pros

You get a lot of different experience, primarily because they force you to do the work of 3 people. They also give high titles - that can be a nice resume line.

Cons

The owners are horrendous. They make sexist, racist, and inappropriate jokes and remarks constantly. One of the owners talks down to everyone and is prone to screaming fits. He will swear at you and make comments that basically just make you feel like the dumbest, piece of crap ever. They fire people for no reason, or "just to keep everyone else on their toes." There have been a handful of people there for an extended period of time, but most of the positions have an extremely high turnover rate. There are no flex hours, and nobody respects any form of work-life balance. You are expected to be there constantly. You are expected to answer your email at all hours on weekends. And then, when you leave they'll try to screw you out of every spec of compensation you're entitled to get. There is also no such thing as leaving there on good terms.

Pros

I worked with some of the best people I've ever met, who are now either fired, because they didn't agree with a certain mangager, or quit because like me they saw a sinking ship. I had the opportunity to work with an amazing team who I will always stay close with.

Cons

If you want to be respected, enjoy your job, feel like you’re making a difference in your career, want to be paid equally and treated equally (especially as a woman), this is the last place on Earth you should work. A certain person, is personally running the company straight into the ground and the CEO and President are sitting back as they do it. They will continue to promise revenue without results and get rid of anyone who doesn’t agree with them. The sad thing is, the president of the company is a good guy and should probably be running the company himself. The CEO of the company micromanages so much that no one can actually get anything truly accomplished. If you want to work somewhere with a million ideas and unfinished projects with no real results, this is the place for you. They continue to hire VPs and upper level management but neglect the jobs that need to be filled. They chase out or fire excellent employees because they don’t agree with his management. If I could give it less than one star, I would.

Pros

- Some nice people there - Mission looks great on paper - Free popcorn and a ping pong table if you care about stuff like that

Cons

- Management isn't realistic about goals... or how to achieve them - The surveys results are skewed to accept schools based on who pays for ads (the term "pay to play" was thrown around the office all the time & the E&Y cert they get each year only checks to see if the criteria is fairly applied... not if the criteria is subjective, flawed, or different from year to year) - The company doesn't understand technology at all... they don't get how to build software so they are incapable of supporting those who do - Incredibly low morale was a problem they didn't know how to fix... anything that requires a human element and can't be solved with a "rank and file" mgmt system is an enigma to them. Morale was so low that i overheard people taking recruiter calls at their desks at one point... I wanted out the whole time i was there - really long hours... never worked such long hours any where else in my career... to the point of being at the office at 11pm or later - Crappy pay... well under even the local averages

Military Friendly® results are formulaic. It is impossible for results to be skewed by an individual or for the benefit of any single organization or school. So there is simply no merit in your “pay to play” accusation. It’s also puzzling to hear that such a term would be thrown around in conversation because, nobody, including me, would have been able to actually follow through on that even if they had such nefarious intentions. 86% of all schools designated Military Friendly® in 2016 did NOT have a customer relationship with Victory Media (ie – they spent no money with us). This ratio has been pretty consistent throughout the years. And, as of October 2016, we voluntarily enacted a policy to disallow any school deemed ineligible to earn the Military Friendly® School designation from purchasing any of our marketing products at all. This policy goes much farther than most other companies in our space and in fact, is more stringent than current VA and DOD Tuition Assistance approvals. Your comments are reckless and seek to harm the many organizations which are creating opportunity for our nation’s veterans. I invite you to read our policy and practices on Military Friendly® Schools selection: http://militaryfriendly.com/military-friendly-schools-methodology/. We exist to create opportunity for our nation’s veterans. We also realize that the issue of determining which schools are most military friendly is complex and has infinite perspective, and it also has become a political issue. In fact, we published a white paper on the complexity of this issue that I invite you to read: http://betterforveterans.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/BetterForVeterans_20160722.pdf.
