Pros

Great museum, friends will adore you if you work here.

Cons

Micro management, toxic environment, the reason so many jobs are always available is staff turnover is constant. Top executives make multiple hundreds of thousands of dollars while low-level FT staff needs to work two jobs to pay bills.

VMFA has so many talented employees who are passionate, dedicated and driven.

Cons

A wide discrepancy between very high salaries and very low salaries, which leave many people feeling bitter. No chance for raises or bonuses.

The people and the art are great. It is a beautiful place to be and having access to the art and grounds is wonderful.

Cons

The museum as a company is not a great place to work. Most employees are under paid and under appreciated. They tend to hire from outside before promoting from within.
