Pros

It's hard to find any pros when it comes to this company. Some of the people there are nice, that however, is about it. Some departments may be better than others, but Tech was not great at all.

Cons

Lack of management support. Lack of guidence. Training very poorly structured. Communication was very poor. Staff allowed to spout racist, sexist and antisemitic rhetoric, all whilst sat next to a manager. I have never seen a member of staff act so poorly at any company, let alone next to a department manager who didn't seem to care at all. So much red tap nothing gets done in a timely manner. The work day is incredibly poorly structured. Start at 8 lines open at 9, so sit doing naff all for an hour. No monthly reviews. Broke the law by not offering DSE assessments to all staff. Some office staff show incredibly poor hygiene, seriously some of them stink and their hands are filthy. All the managers do is send a mass email, mean while those of us who aren't disgusting are stuck in a place that makes our skin crawl. There's no training on the phones either, we've all muddled through. Maybe people wouldn't struggle with call handling with training, which is a running theme.

It is appalling that you would leave such a personal review in reference to former work colleagues. - Si Whysall

Pros

Private use of van, tools provided, good initial training.

Cons

Have worked for this company for many years. They are promoting a high performance culture within the company but within the service side the only culture is one of bullying, threats, arrogance and ignorance, especially from the senior management, who clearly do not care about any employees. Senior management is made up of an OLD BOYS network than are more concerned of covering their own backs at the expense of employees. Many engineers are forced to work in an unsafe manner due to time restrictions placed on every job. Travel times are manipulated to increase workload that you end up not getting paid for. When this is raised with management, it just gets dismissed. Even if problems are raised with HR they just pass it back to the managers that dismissed it in the first place, with no follow up to see if the issue has been resolved. Add to this that your manager is now even more annoyed that you’ve taken things above him. Very long working hours with no recognition for work involved that does not include repairing a boiler. Recently online training has been introduced that we are expected to complete in our own time, that is followed up with by e-mails from line managers when not completed. Absolutely no support from managers, and senior technicians workload is too much to provide support for engineers either. One way to sum it up is treated like slaves and flogged to death to work harder with a we don’t care attitude just go and fix another boiler. Senior management full of false promises
