Pros
I can’t speak for the other offices, but the Kansas City office is great! The culture here is amazing and that’s because the management really values everyone that works here as a person and not just an employee. Not only are the people who work here actually friends with each other, but they’re family. There is also a low turnover of employees in this office because people are sticking around longer. This is partially due to the working environment, but also due to the fact that no one position is stagnant.
For the research analysts, there is mentoring and training set up instead of the ‘sink or swim’ method that other valuation firms employ. We’ve had many people move through the ranks here into upper positions after just a short period of time. By working here, you a truly investing in your personal and career growth. This is an office that wants its employees to do well and invests in furthering their development through continuing education. This is a great place to come if you are just starting out in your appraising career.
Cons
I wouldn’t recommend working here if you are unsure of what you want in your career path or are not committed to completing the initial training.
