Great Product But Don't work here
Pros
Amazing chocolate and other brands. Some great people do work here and the Chef's are very knowledgable. You might be able to get a good salary but they will low ball you so you will need to negotiate. Another pro is you can probably travel to France and Spain depending on your position.
Cons
In headquarters they are pretty great. But in Brooklyn they hire and promote people based on friendships and not by merritt. The Chief Operating manager would often say that managers do not need to know what they manage but just manage people well..... So be prepared for managers who do not know what they are doing. An example being their Communication, Events and E-Commerce Director, who cannot write a press release and has never managed any digital platform before. There is also an issue with HR at Valrhona, if you have anything happen to you here please go straight to the city, HR will sweep it under the rug (examples of this range from all forms of harassment).
