Pros

•(Occasionally) get to make your own schedule. •Sometimes fulfilling work if you are passionate about the research.

Cons

•Working more than 8 hours a day frequently was necessary to complete job duties but they would not approve overtime. •Constant stress and negative criticism despite meeting all the expectations on paper (this can vary depending on what researcher you’re working for). •Doing 2-4 persons worth of work for a very low paying salary (all with the promise of “being moved up” in pay scale as you prove yourself… spoiler alert they never plan to move you up). •Little-no pay negotiation up front.
