Pros

There are many very talented employees working at Vendavo

Cons

Vendavo is a sinking ship. * Most of the senior leadership team (many of whom have reasonable tenure) are completely oblivious to customer needs in the marketplace, and it creates a very challenging work environment. * Current “flagship” products were obtained through acquisition, and lack functionality (and flexibility) that was inherent to the original Vendavo solutions. It has created a scenario where sales is forced into fitting a square peg into a round hole, all while telling prospects that the newer SaaS products have the same functionality as the former flagship product. Very few of the long-tenured customers have migrated to the new solutions because of the lack of functionality parity. * Very few integrations between the products acquired by acquisition - leading to challenges during implementation when customer just expects that all Vendavo applications talk to one another. * Product roadmap is well thought out, but there is no investment (or resources) to actually build out the products strategically. Roadmap items are constantly pushed down the road for the needs of the next hot prospect, and creates a never ending cycle of not being able to address the marketplace strategically. * Major customer retention issues. Many long tenured customers (including former advisory council members) are jumping ship to greener pastures. In addition, there are newer customers who are canceling their subscriptions after the initial term feeling that they were sold vaporware / false promises.

Pros

People have been this company's greatest strength over the years. There still are many fantastic team members—talented, skilled and genuinely helpful—though few now remain. I've also valued and appreciated work flexibility in terms of onsite/WFH and managing my time, both as an individual contributor and as a people leader.

Cons

There was a complete and dramatic leadership change in 2024 that set the company on a collision course with demise. Culture changed abruptly, solid values were replaced with vague and meaningless buzzwords, and executive gaslighting began. All under the watchful eye of a comically clueless new executive team, which desperately tries to get some respect by force. This was followed by three waves of mass layoffs within six months, which included entire mission-critical teams. Office locations are likely to close soon, and an air of exasperation and uncertainty is now the new norm for our teams. It really is heartbreaking to see a once great company go down like this.

The Ugly Truth

Pros

There are not too many positive things I can say about this company. The cons simply outweigh any pros.

Cons

To say that this company has had quite a bit of change is an understatement. To say that the company has had change that has improved not only the culture, product, and future of the company is a joke. Let’s be real – how many CEOs can a company go through in less than one year? How many executives on top of the CEO can get cut in less than a year? How many good employees leave the company within six months? I no longer work at Vendavo and for good reason. I was there for less than a year and found it to be the most dysfunctional company I have ever worked for. There are a lot of good people that have worked at this company – I won’t lie and say there aren’t. To be honest the sales leadership is the greatest thing the company has going for it right now. The issue is there are a number of people who continue to bring the company spiraling down. How can a company move forward when certain individuals keep pulling it back? It is absolutely shocking to me how some have so much control, yet seem to be so manipulative and the biggest threat to the company. If one department has a turnover rate that is sky-rocking through the roof, shouldn’t someone raise an eyebrow and question the leadership of that team? I mean does anyone even still work in HR? Red flag.
