BAD COMPANY TO WORK WITH

Pros

My honest review: during your interview, you’ll think you’ve hit the jackpot. It’s a startup, after all—so much for "hiring the best." You’ll be handed a book about how Amazon started, but don’t expect any of the key lessons or positives from that book to actually be applied.

Cons

Someone was fired just because she wasn’t smiling, so you can imagine the kind of leadership we're dealing with here. The COO is a very "funny" human being—he's basically the alpha and omega of the company, thinking he knows everything, even when he doesn't. Since he's not in the country, everyone has to work late into the night to accommodate his time zone. The workload is *ridiculous*—you’ll be working like a bee, even during the holidays. That place is like an anthill—you work and work non-stop, and that’s exactly why they call it that. If you ever get an interview, only take the job if you literally have no other options. Honestly, treat it as a placeholder, because it’s rough. I get that the country’s tough, but your mental health matters too. On top of that, the CPO treats people terribly, talking down to them like they're trash—something that would never fly in foreign countries. For a company that sells food stuff why give only rice and oil to staff after laboring for you alll year long?????

Pros

1: The work mode is hybrid. 2: Most of the people are a joy to work with. 3: Fast-paced and dynamic work environment. 4: You'll work mostly with young, bright people. 5: Pay is fair—it all depends on your role and experience. 6: Relaxed and conducive work environment equipped with games, etc. 7: If you're starting out your career, you'll get valuable hands-on experience. 8: Flexible work hours. You can close before 5 as long as you work for the expected number of hours, you're good.

Cons

1: Inexperienced founders who believe they alone have all the answers. 2: There's a CEO, but you'll probably never see or meet him (Holy Ghost). 3: Five years in, and the business still lacks some basic organizational and reporting structure. 4: What you're interviewed for is not necessarily what you get upon resumption. This is true for the majority of people working there. 5: They have a habit of shifting the goalpost (objectives) and setting unrealistic targets then blame you for not meeting those constantly changing and unrealistic expectations. 6: You will not rise through the ranks. You’re more likely to move horizontally than vertically. If there’s an opportunity to move someone up, they’d rather hire someone new. (Hire and develop the best, my foot!) 7: The COO (Olumide Fayakin) is essentially the CEO. He sets the business goals, leads operations, and interferes in products and tech—because why not? He likes to think of himself as an expert in everything (Omni-knowest). 8: The CPO (Gatunmi Aliyu) what a guy! Check your dictionary and you'll find his picture next to the word "Pompous". Poor leadership skills. He’s also the worst founder to work with. Quick to get annoyed and fond of talking down to people. He’ll whip out his locally acquired foreign accent when he wants to sound impressive. If his team drops the ball, he’ll pass the buck instead of taking ownership. 9: In sum, if politicking and ass-kissing aren’t your thing, you probably won’t thrive at Vendease. If it is, join the train, you'll fit right in.

Cons

They lay off and sack people anyhow. Your advancement in the company is based off on who you know or if the top people like you. Their regular recommendations is remain on status co. They feel their staff is entitled No bonuses No 13th month Just your salary that is it.
