Pros

The organization is stable with a hybrid work model. Most of the people you work with are great.

Cons

The work life balance is non-existant. If you work in the Des Moines office be prepared to put in a lot of additional unexpected hours to meet sudden and immediate deadlines. Expect to work 60+ hours per week regularly, including weekends when the SVP decides he needs something ASAP. Training when moving into the organization is non-existant, it's simply trial by fire. There's no real training program anywhere to be found and resources for learning your job are scarce. Partnering with other business units is difficult. Nobody wants to take ownership of projects.

Pros

Great work life balance: excellent PTO, office closed week between Christmas and New Years, half day Fridays in August. Ownership mentality: new company (created in 2018) has entrepreneurial spirit but also stability from strong legacy book of business. Senior management lives company values. Very approachable and responsive. Growing company creates opportunity for career growth of employees.

Cons

Focus on growth without significant staffing increases keeps employees responding to change. Before company can stabilize operations and create efficiencies, we’re on to the next transaction. Appropriate staffing, either temporary or full-time would allow company to grow and streamline ops simultaneously.

Pros

They have good benefits, promote volunteering by giving time for it, and do a lot of things to keep employees engaged.

Cons

They say the promote development and have reimbursement programs. However, my experience is they don't want to pay for it. I brought up multiple options for development opportunities for me personally for out side education and certification programs which all have been denied. I also brought up having LinkedIn Learning as a potential benefit to allow all employees to have opportunities for development. That was sent to HR and they said no. It makes it so people stuck, with no opportunities development.
