Pros

-- Racially diverse -- Will sponsor/employ non-citizens for U.S. residency -- Some roles allow work-from-home -- Unlimited PTO after 6 months -- Unlimited ride credit (irrelevant if the City of Chicago doesn't renew contract) -- A few very intelligent and hardworking coworkers

Cons

-- Lack of transparency from executive leadership -- Financially bootstrapped by Co-founder's Dad (you could argue this is a "pro" but I wouldn't) -- Lost 10+ employees in <4 months because of poor company culture -- Executive team is very young with <5 years of professional experience -- They don't make good on many promises in partnership contracts, opening the company up to potential litigation -- People Ops leadership has a demonstrated history of manipulation and deceit -- 1099/Contractor agreements for people who are treated as employees -- No HR management to handle misconduct -- They only contribute the (legally mandated) minimum to health insurance costs

We are very disappointed and saddened to read the comments about your VeoRide employment experience and the opinions you have about our company and our leadership team. At VeoRide, we pride ourselves on the diversity of our team and the unique contributions that each and every team member brings. As a technology leader in the micromobility space, we are in a rapid growth phase in a highly competitive industry. We understand that our growth trajectory and the performance expectations that come along with that may not be a match for everyone. Still, we have an open door policy for all of our employees to engage with any member of our leadership team to discuss any issue they may have—we afford every departing employee the opportunity of an exit interview with one of our co-founders or Head of People Operations. Unfortunately this did not meet your expectations. We hope we can address the opinions stated above and correct the misinformation shared. You can reach out to us directly at careers@veoride.com and we can set up a time to chat further. Regardless, we thank you for your contributions to our company and wish you nothing but continued professional success.

Pros

Remote work is a perk.

Cons

Management is insensitive, passive aggressive, inflexible and abusive. Business is more important than people in this company and management is unable to accept feedback. They pay women less than men and are not socially conscious whatsoever. Employees are expected to put their mental health on the line for the betterment of the company. The pay is minimum wage without any promise of a raise- in fact raises are outright denied in many cases even after years of service. When offered feedback on the lack of diversity in the company and the lack of support for Black folks during such a tumultuous time, it is met with silence. Very insensitive and hyper-focused on capitalism. As a company led by a woman of color, it had the potential to be an inclusive and dynamic startup but, unfortunately, it has fallen short to the detriment of those at the bottom.

Pros

It was a job, with a clear upward trajectory… Then nope. The GMs were great and always trying help and advocate for pay increases for the field team members.

Cons

Candice and Edwin are out of touch with how things work. Unrealistic standard for Markets. Condescending as well as boastful about things that did not happen. I was offered another role in a completely different city with no pay increase, no moving assistance and was not provided a letter of intent about the role or timeline to start. I was just supposed to move.
