Easy work

Pros

If you need a job right out of college or in between a career change that is easy and mundane in nature until you find something better then this is the place for you. I would not recommend staying for an extended period of time as there is no room for growth and the work offers nothing as far as professional development and will get old really fast. The people here are good and you will enjoy the co-workers you work with. The HR department is very professional and will help you deal with inexperienced managers prone to error.

Cons

Company cares very little for entry level employees and they cycle through them like night and day. Management makes things harder than they than they have to be and can be very immature in nature and have poor communication skills. It is easy to tell that the managers here have had no formal training as there seemed to be a constant disconnect with other employees. Expectations are not clear and you will be micromanaged to death if they suspect that you are not doing something they way they want something done even if it was not properly communicated to you. Executive staff is closed off and tries to act as the end all be all when they should not be. CEO/Owner isn't very involved with the business at all and lets COO run the operation while COO uses unprofessional practices to try and intimidate employees they are unhappy with. I would not recommend anyone work at this company unless it was a last resort.

We maintain high data quality standards for our clients and have specific minimum requirements in terms of work effort and output that all team members must meet. When a team member isn’t meeting requirements for an extended period of time and isn’t responding to additional coaching from their mentors and managers, a formal performance improvement plan may be needed. If you feel that any aspect of our communication was unprofessional, please share those insights with our HR department, as these details were not included in recent exit interviews. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Pros

The pay isn't horrible if you get hired directly, especially since the work is so boring. You can bonus every month if you get enough surveys. You get experience with Microsoft Outlook, Access, Excel, and Word. Most of the other research associates are really awesome people.

Cons

The work is so incredibly monotonous and boring. The management is the worst I have ever worked for as far as giving no respect to research associates, especially since most of them are temps. Speaking of which, they let go of temps constantly with no warning. What's worse is that before each person was let go, they had a meeting with a manager to "help them". Management treats you like you're replaceable and do not care about you, your life, or anything going on. They only care that you're there and punching the phones constantly. Management also talks negatively about former employees, which is extremely inappropriate and goes to show they don't care about their employees at all. Managers also love to say they were in the research position before, but what they don't tell you is that it was many years ago, things have changed tremendously, and they refuse to accept and acknowledge that the job is harder than it used to be.

Thank you for your feedback. We are committed to creating a positive and transparent environment for all employees, so we’re disappointed to hear about some of your experiences. We’d like to offer some clarity on several of the points addressed in this review. Management: Team members that are performing below expectations receive additional coaching and mentorship from the management team. We strive to help all employees be successful in their role. Temp-Perm: Some team members are hired temp-to-perm via staffing agencies. After completing one week of training modules, new team members are expected to show improved performance month to month until they are performing at expectations in month three or four. The process is transparent as goals are outlined during the training week, tools for tracking performance are provided and each team member receives their performance stats and KPIs on a monthly basis. During the initial training period it can happen that a team member or management may decide that phone-based primary research is not the right role for them. Promote from Within: Project Managers and Research Analysts all started as Research Associates and there have been two promotions in the last 12 months.

Solid First Job

Pros

Pretty decent job for people straight out of college looking for office experience. Cold calling but not in a sales role so people are typically not too rude on the phone. Definitely can look pretty good on a resume. Small, casual office where most people are in the same role as you or were previously. Never really asked to work overtime or take the job home with you in any way. Easy enough job and can make solid money on monthly bonuses if you put in average effort. Room for advancement if you demonstrate that you understand what they're doing overall as a company beyond just your daily tasks.

Cons

Projects get repetitive sometimes. Phone based work is not necessarily for everyone. Their sister company disregards Verbatim and forces certain aspects on them like vacation and benefits that would otherwise be more attractive if it were run as its own company.
