Pros

You can work your own schedule and work from home as an independent contractor which means you don't have to fight traffic or drink terrible office coffee.

Cons

Where to begin? Apparently everyone that works there absolutely hates their job because they are the most hateful, snippy, sarcastic bunch of crazies in the industry. If you ever challenge a QA, watch out, you are now in their crosshairs and the onslaught of bitchiness will not let up. Got out of that one quick. Phew!

Horrible Place to Work

Pros

Parking was free and there was always lots of parking spots available. The toilet was a manual flush so it never flushed before it should have.

Cons

Unfortunately I'm sad to report that the 2014 review on here was 100% accurate as was the review on careerbliss. "Many of us bailed on this company due to the management inadequacies of the owner. She rules through fear and bullying. You won't see that in the interview process, so beware. Ask why turnover is consistently very high. She claims that benefits are generous, but they are below average." - glassdoor review "This is a horrible place to work. The CEO micromanages every aspect of every employee's job. Taking initiative is not only not encouraged, it is punished. If you're technical you will not do what you think your job was supposed to be. The platform you'll work on/maintain is written in ASP/VB Script (yes ASP not ASP.Net) and is very buggy and the CEO has no intention of replacing it. The turnover at the company is close to 100% per year! (yes 100%). Do yourself a favor and avoid this place." -careerbliss In my experience promises were made which weren't kept including offering PTO as part of the benefits package & then saying it couldn't be used not even for medical appointments. I've never seen employees treated so poorly. And many of the vendors were spoken to very unprofessionally. I felt embarrassed to be associated with the company. I don't recommend working there.

Pros

Two positives: I got a salary during the time I was there, and I made a couple of lasting work friends (note: these people no longer work there either).

Cons

There are too many to list them all. If you see a review on here (or elsewhere) from a transcriptionist that means that they don't work in the Renton office, they work from home. Their experience is different than anyone working in the office. In the office, you have to deal with the CEO, the woman in charge. And that is the problem with working at Versio. She is not stable and swings from being normal to being OUT OF CONTROL. This environment is beyond stressful, she's a workplace bully. She'll flip from one employee to the next - everyone is a target eventually. Be forewarned - there is NOTHING that offsets the negative of working there. While I was there I heard about and personally saw people leaving in extreme frustration, tears, feeling beaten down, and people having to go on medical leave to combat the physical signs of stress she inflicted. I saw one person leave in tears after six days, others leave in 2 months or 4 months similarly upset. I stayed way to long and didn't make a year.
