Pros

20% Associate Discount Enjoyed company of fellow co-workers

Cons

Be prepared to be mislead Be prepared to be low balled on you're salary Be prepared to give up any type of work/life balance Be prepared to deal with inexperienced district managers Be prepared to give up any real managerial experience you're use to. The idea of "run it like it's your own" is out the window Be prepared for outdated benefits Be prepared for excessive and unnecessary audits Be prepared to be treated like a criminal Be prepared to not have a voice Be prepared to be motivated by fear Be prepared to end up looking elsewhere Education and experience are of no value here. Your potential to grow is based on appearance and who you're close to. Of course, what you negotiated upon hiring.

Pros

The discount and the other store associates were nice. That's seriously all I can think of. This store has nice jewelry and clothes for the most part.

Cons

I was hired on at a new store opening in Fayetteville, NC. I worked the two days training plus a day helping getting the store ready. After that I checked back for over a month to see if I was on the schedule to no avail. When I asked the manager why I haven't been put on the schedule she told me that she liked who she had working for her now. That made no sense since she never gave me a chance. Honestly, I think she was racist. She never gave any of the other ladies that were not white hours either. At one point I seriously considering legal action for discrimination. However, I decided against it. Basically, store is OK but the management brings the store down. I make sure to tell anybody I know to spread the word to not shop there.

Pros

Have a good team to work with and customer interaction.

Cons

Poor Communication with DM and RVP. No work life balance. No room for growth unless you're in the click. Upon hire new SM's are lead to believe there is an opportunity for DM growth due to the expansion of Stores. Not true. For example, current DM's (qualified or not) were promised their roles/promotions when hired. Several very qualified SM's were overlooked due to this promise which caused a lot of tension. Being good at Visual doesn't make you DM material. Some lack the basic people/management skills needed to motive and retain well qualified Mangers. Hence the various complaints on Glassdoor regarding store management. Would simply think twice before being sold the dream. Also, Benefits and Salary is not on par with industry competitors.
