      Poor Leadership (Read: CEO) Overshadows a Strong Product

      Pros

      The company has a great product, but leadership choices, particularly at the top (the CEO!!!!), significantly impact morale and workplace culture. There is a pattern of unprofessional behavior and public criticism from the CEO that has been ruthlessly demotivating and counterproductive for the team.

      Cons

      The CEO. Hopefully, ServiceNow (that acquired Veza) realizes this and makes some course corrections, before it's too late.

      Fast-Paced, Highly Technical, and the Potential is Real

      Pros

      Technology & Mission: Solving extremely challenging problems in a high-demand industry. Working on the core product offers fantastic exposure to the modern cloud and AI security architecture. Talent: The team is composed of extremely sharp, driven, and collaborative individuals - including at the leadership levels. Flexibility: Remote/Hybrid work is valued and respected. PTO and Sick day policies are generous and help employees recover and recharge.

      Cons

      The pace can be relentless. Priorities shift quickly, but that is expected in this market. It feels normalized to work past 5, but varies by team. I hope this will change with the acquisition. Process & culture are still a work in progress. Luckily the company is AI first, so it can help fill in the gaps. No 401K unfortunately

      Pros

      Startups and Hypergrowth environments aren’t for everyone, and that’s okay! Compared to midsize and enterprise environments, they do pivot more. It’s how you figure out the right strategy and continue to succeed. What I’ve seen at Veza is everyone is doing it together. Egos aren’t driving a cutthroat culture. You get to see the impact of the work you’re doing quickly. While there are some bottlenecks (show me a company where there aren’t), they tend to have fewer than a midsize or enterprise org.
