      You won’t be reprimanded for tardiness.

      In nearly 17 years of working in the financial industry, I have never experienced a more toxic work culture than that of at Vibrant Credit Union. There isn’t much I can say that hasn’t been said already in previous reviews from real employees, but I will leave a few key points impacting my personal experience here: - Toxic positivity - Rampant nepotism - Lack of diversity and inclusion - Irresponsible and inexperienced Leadership - Gaslighting by Management & HR - Critical thinking discouraged - UNBELIEVABLY HIGH turnover (as much as 90% in 9 months in certain departments) The most discerning thing I had witnessed was the lack of stability and structure at VCU. Employees positions and pay may be changed at anytime, sometimes even before their start date. Ultimately, it was this constant change and reassignment of roles that caused me to seek out a new role elsewhere. I understand that VCU is a business, and change is inevitable, but the way you treat employees matter. It says everything about who you are, and what your true core values are as a company. Unfortunately, VCU has continued to show us who they are year after year: at their very core lies something rotten and broken. I can honestly say I am ashamed to have worked for this company. For those of you considering a role here, or are still employed there, let me tell you this, you deserve better.

      Awful management!! Awful company where HR doesn’t listen to your concerns because they only care about the company being sued NOT the employees. A little advice for HR listen to your employees and help them.... that is how you can stop them from having a reason for a law suit! Instead HR is looking for every reason to write employees up even if the instance was from months prior!! They are trying to downsize without calling it downsizing. Management let out the secret they still wanted to get rid of at least 4 more employees in my department. Another member of management said they wanted to make sure those employees were the ones that knew their worth!! They want to keep the ones that don’t think they can find another job somewhere else that would treat them with respect. If you are smart enough to challenge you get an X put on your back. Then they will make things up hoping you are not smart enough to win that challenge. They will even falsify documentation. I am not a disgruntled employee I am an appalled professional that can not believe business practices like this exist. If I could give this company 0 stars I would. Oh yeah and don’t believe the 5 stars. THEY BRIBE THEIR EMPLOYEES WITH “FREE STUFF” TO RATE THEM 5 STARS!!

      Vibrant takes great pride in encouraging staff to post about their experiences with our organization and to do so in a transparent, open, and honest manner. It's a key reason why you see so many reviews on formats such as Glassdoor. That said, when inaccurate statements are made, we are compelled to respectfully challenge them. Suggesting that the organization falsifies documentation and bribes employees to provide positive ratings are serious and misleading claims about how we operate. We will always encourage our dynamic staff to share their experiences at the organization as we want to ensure that anyone interested in joining our Team has an early read on our culture. That said, we are also committed to challenging statements that are misleading.

      Pros

      Attempts to create a fun work environment. But be warned - if you are uncomfortable playing games at a bridal shower, or acting like a sophomore in college, you most likely will not feel comfortable within this culture.

      Cons

      This organization has begun a complete 180 in terms of it's direction, identity and integrity over the last couple of years. Management seems to have bitten off more than it can chew in terms of mergers, etc. It is sad to see how the idea of what "Vibrant" was in the beginning, and claims as its intention, have mostly gone away, it would seem, perhaps in its attempt to grow too fast.
