    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Victoria University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Location - being outside the CBD

    Cons

Managers operate through bullying, separating you from colleagues, and making you do pointless tasks. Jobs for friends. If you have success be prepared for many people to come after you to tear you down. Insecure, incompetent managers = Tall poppy syndrome. Managers will destroy your confidence and will to live, if not your career.

    Advice to Management

Having good staff is not a threat to your career. Tearing them down when they do good things just reveals your own incompetence.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Victoria University full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

CBD location is convenient. The library staff are wonderful.

    Cons

This is the worst law school in Australia. Its existence is a fraud on the taxpayer. It has a zero research profile, yet one of the largest cohorts of PhD candidates in Australia. Long a jobs for mates hotbed, the students are terribly weak, and the management gobbsmackingly incompetent. Management, especially under the previous regime, relied on lies and bullying. This is a career graveyard. Teaching loads so high... your research will die, and with it, your career. Unemployment is better than a job here.

    Cons

    - Leadership lacks coherence and direction - Performance management done so poorly that bad staff stay indefinitely and drive out more competent people - Constant change plans and restructures, plus financial uncertainty, leads to the place always feeling like it is in a state of crisis
