Pros

Nice location, some exceptional individuals, gifted engineers!

Cons

If you are a mid career professional who wants to be managed like a $10/hour fast food worker, this is the place for you. If you think Agile means reckless, this is the place for you. If you want advancement to be based on proximity to the CEO, this is the place for you. If you want a career based on capability and achievement, this is NOT the place for you! Work here for a year straight out of college and by the end you will have grown beyond the "fratmosphere".

Thank you for your feedback. It’s unfortunate to hear that you haven’t had the best experience with Videology. We regularly aim to assess engagement and take action where it’s needed to keep our folks happy and productive – so this review is appreciated! Our leaders have come from a variety of backgrounds – within and outside the industry – and we do believe they’ve earned their badge. However, they’re certainly not perfect. We’ve been extremely focused on their continued growth and success through structured feedback, ongoing coaching, and training. Our managers, as well as the rest of the company, are working under a great deal of pressure as we continue to lead the industry with our advanced technology and product offering. To do that, though, we do ask them to be nimble and roll up their sleeves and focus on driving a high-performing culture. And, maintain an atmosphere of fun and learning and sharing of ideas. Easy, right? We have also prepared our managers to focus on their employees’ development and growth through our simple-yet-effective tools and resources… like career pathing, individual development planning, and mentoring. Our managers are more excited than ever to coach and reward their employees, as long as their employees are motivated to perform and lead their own destiny. We encourage you to reach out to your manager or Human Resources if you have any concerns about your growth or engagement. We’re happy to help!

Pros

The teammates were generally good to work with Decent work-life balance One of the better known software product companies in Baltimore Great if you're a univ of Virginia alumni

Cons

After a layoff round earlier this year that saw the company headcount drop by 10% (the CEO and co claimed it to be a restructure to be more product/engineering focused but it was clearly to reduce costs to show profit for future IPO/sale purposes), the Glassdoor rating is now higher than ever- how ? It seems there were 5 (!!!) * 5 star rating reviews on October 3rd with very generic terms in it whereas you usually see a review every 10-30 days. The leadership seems to have "missed the bus". Should have sold/IPO'ed while they still could- the DSP market is getting cannibalized/commoditized and the barrier to entry is non-existent Inter-department politics is very high. People are eager to pass the responsibility The CEO mostly has the same old crew from his old company. Old boys' club.

Thank you for your review of Videology! We truly value the feedback from our current and former employees. While we’re happy to hear that you enjoyed your teammates and our work culture, we’re very sorry that some of your experiences - and our Glassdoor ratings - left you feeling concerned. We want to take this opportunity to provide additional clarity to some of the statements you made in your review. As you can see from our Glassdoor site, we are very active in providing a real look into Videology’s work culture… and we understand the voice that Glassdoor’s platform has given us. That’s why we’re considered an “Open Company” by Glassdoor! Providing such a transparent look into our world includes giving current and former employees the opportunity to express their unfiltered views of our company. That way, we’re giving potential candidates a real glimpse into what it’s like to work for Videology and attracting those who like what they see. On Glassdoor, we’ve enlisted the platform’s best practice of enthusiastically encouraging employees, including senior management, to write reviews about our company. There’s no cherry-picking….no bribes….nada. What you’re reading on Glassdoor is a genuine – whether favorable or not – take on our company. As we’ve stated before, Videology is made up of a truly diverse workforce from a variety of schools, experiences, and locations…who hold various positions with us. We’re very proud of our team and the culture they’ve created. We ask our current employees to utilize various means to provide us with feedback; we also ask them to be solutions-oriented with us to generate the most positive employee experience imaginable. We have some big goals to achieve in 2017 and we feel pretty confident in our ability to transcend the competition through our uniquely converged software. And, as always, we encourage our employees to reach out – through Glassdoor or our other avenues – to let us know how we can do better, for them. Best wishes for a successful 2017!

Pros

The work environment at Videology is perfectly favorable if you are an ex-Ad.com or friends/relatives of the senior management.

Cons

1) LAYOFF'S- Videology recently laid off 40% of their employee without giving them any prior notice. The employees came to the office in the morning and were surprised to find their access card not working. They were escorted from the door and were handed their termination letters. They were not allowed to enter the office premise or even collect their personal belongings. After years of service, this kind of an exit was shocking! Don't know what the secret sauce is but their worse employees somehow are retained. 2) SENIOR MANAGEMENT- Videology strictly hires friends and relatives at the top management positions. Pick up anyone from the senior management, he/she will either be the CEO's classmate or relative. Outsiders are not allowed! They company is top heavy. 3) EMPLOYEE GROWTH- You can grow only if you are from Ad.com. NonAd.com's have no future in this company and are not given opportunities to grow. Their pay hike is pathetic and promotions? Just forget about it! In case of reassigning of tasks only a handful of their employees are assigned better job profiles and responsibilities. Which is why within one team you might comes across two employees with same job title but one who is better skilled (but is unfortunately a non-ad.cm/non us citizen/friend/relative) is bestowed with petty tasks and the one who is superficially charming is given more and better responsibilities. Even during appraisals they have already made up their mind on who has to be given what task. They don't even bother to ask you whether you to take up any additional assignments. Videology discriminates a lot. 4) POLITICS- Skills are not recognized. Only if you are an expert in pleasing your colleagues and buttering your bosses, you will be recognized. Favoritisms are very common here. 5) HIRING NON-US CITIZENS- Videology does not take any responsibility if you confront with any issues pertaining to your H1B visa or Green Card. Year after year you will keep waiting with this hope but Videology will never do anything about actually giving you a Green Card. They will console you that they will sponsor your Green Card but they keep you till they want you. 6) DIRECTION- Videology does not have any strategy! Their business plans are abrupt, everything is very secretive with zero transparency. They are not focused and keep changing their minds frequently. They seem very confused in regards to what line of business do they really want to be in or get into.
