Pros

This is one of the most dynamic organizations that I have worked in my career. Every day I am impressed by the work that I see my colleagues perform to transform health care to reach underserved communities. Many of them are working directly with the government or private sector to drive sustained impact - changing how health care is delivered. However, this doesn't come without doing the hard work: which can mean stretching yourself to accomplish what you thought wasn't possible. Everyone is united under shared goals. But it isn't an organization where you might clock in a regular eight hours every day. There are times where you might find yourself going the extra mile. Yet when you see the results, it's satisfying and you step back and realize - it was worth it.

Cons

This isn't as much a con as it is the reality of working in a global organization with offices spread across geography, time zone, and with multiple languages. Work can take a little longer to complete because if you miss a cycle of catching someone, the window closes and you have to wait a day to catch that person. It makes it that more important to plan well for project work. Technology can also be tricky. Microsoft Teams seems to hiccup frequently and so everyone has learned to be patient with it as communications and collaboration relies significantly on these types of technologies.

Pros

You can feel good about helping to bring healthcare to the most underserved rural communities. VR has an excellent set of employee benefits (health/dental/vision, PTO, 401k match, STD, LTD, 125 Plan, assistance with dependent insurance and bus passes)

Cons

Growing very fast and expanding in a number of new countries - seemed to me that they were having trouble keeping up with the growth. Definitely a higher value placed on IT and program staff than on Administrative employees
