Pros

Good health benefits, free shoes, GREAT people (mgnt excluded), up and coming company

Cons

Management is verbally abusive in every sense of the word. Forget the typical management issues like micro manager, poor communicator, overly direct ect... I'm talking lies, manipulation, and destructive behavior. Communications and actions are aimed at creating fear in you, undermining the quality of your work, and your potential. Don't get me wrong, the other stuff still exists but management is so insecure in themselves that they will do whatever it takes to make themselves look good and you look bad or just flat out exclude you from anything that could help you do your job. You will not move up or receive any guidance, mentoring, or appreciation for your work. If you do something that makes management insecure, something as small as getting up from your desk to talk with a colleague about a project with out your managers permission, be prepared to publicly be berated for it with zero remorse. I walk into the office in fear and leave feeling beat up and sad. Looking for a job here? Filter by date and read the most recent comments... says a lot. Turn-over is high and no ones cares because employees are replaceable. The few good reviews in the past couple months were an act from HR to bury the bad reviews because they are 110% aware of the problems but do not have the guts to fire high-up management. HR will be your buddy to talk to, a "therapist" if you will, but they won't take the necessary action. Would not recommend to my worst enemy...very actively looking for a new job

Very Disappointing

Pros

Compelling product, good health benefits, free shoes. The opportunity to be a part of a brand with growth potential. Some truly wonderful people.

Cons

Very bad management. CEO is absent (literally lives across the country) and isn't much involved. COO is ineffectual. President has wiped out many of the original staff (many of whom beloved) and replaced them with employees from her former venture. Managers are completely ego-driven, and in some cases, abusive. You can be a top performer but if you aren't in line with management they will make you miserable and fearful for your job. Forget being recognized for your contributions, it won't happen. Executive management is aware of the issues with the culture but does not weed out the bad apples-- and some are among the most toxic people I've ever known. I guess they prefer instead to lose good employees or to fire those who raise concerns. I came into work with massive anxiety almost every day of my time here. Positive Glassdoor reviews are strongly requested by "Talent & Culture" i.e. HR.

It is clear that you are disappointed, and you are correct that we have truly wonderful and talented people at Vionic. We encourage the team to provide feedback and only ask that it is honest so that we know what we can do to adjust the business. We highly value the feedback of our team and it is from their great ideas and honesty that we know what changes to make. Our team has responded to the Gallup Institute anonymous national survey and in 2017 they indicated their engagement level in the 98th percentile, and 2018 they responded and Vionic has again been rated by the team as a Great Place to Work surveyed by the Great Place to Work® Institute. We care deeply for our team and it is our team that creates the positive and familial atmosphere.

Pros

Free shoes, great supportive co-workers. Snacks in the office.

Cons

The workload was insane. It just kept piling up. The whole office was constantly stressed. Senior management are incredibly insecure. I called a senior manager out on antisocial behaviour at a social gathering. Two days later I was fired. HR fabricated a complaint about me, and I had no choice but to leave immediately. Vionic place no value on their staff, they just use people and then dump them when they are no longer convenient. There was no opportunity to progress despite the company growing.
