Pros

Local colleagues who make like more bearable

Cons

Like many other reviewers on this site I was TUPE transferred into Virgincare, keen to join the company which had won the contract and which promissed so much. Oh what a fool I was. The reality was very different and now 19 months after the transfer it is a truly misserable place to work. Morale is rock bottom, redundancies of ‘back office’ staff have been taking place and continue to do so during this year leading to people feeling vulnerable. This also impacts on already stretched front line staff. The staff survey found that less than a quarter of people would recommend it as a place to work. People are really working very hard to provide an excellent service but it isn’t valued by the company. Over this past year and in particular last six months there have been a number of people leaving without other jobs to go to - that should tell anyone considering joining all they need to know about the culture and the company. My personal advice to anyone working there is to look for another job,.

Pros

The resilience and courage of colleagues forced to work for a careless, incompetent and delusional employer.

Cons

The negative comments made on this site are true. I know because I have had identical experiences myself. Virgin Care is easily the worst employer I have had in over 30 years of paid work - being ignorant, arrogant, destructive and unltimately doomed. Don't be fooled by the occasional five start review from a head office apologist and gaslighter. Corporate staff are told to go on to sites such as these to try and counter the tidal wave of truth with obvious puff pieces that deny organisational reality. The efficient, empowering organisation they describe doesn't exist. What does exist is a hollow, mercenary shambles; a chaotic, incompetent scam; a contract-hoovering Ponzi scheme masquarding as a responsible service provider. Take it from me, working for Virgin Care is really bad for your health. Now there's irony for you! Spare yourself what I and numerous of my colleagues have suffered. Protect your physical health, self-esteem and sanity. Work for someone else! There are good health and social care providers out there desperate for staff. Find them.

We pride ourselves on living our values, and ‘caring’ is one of them, but we can see from your review that we haven’t met your expectations in this area. Pros

None. I can't fill the 5 word minumum for this entry.

Cons

Too many to mention. Poor morale, manager don't care, middle management powerless to do anything and are just puppets, morale so low that people are in tears in the horrible faceless hubs, inability to actually do the work due to 'innovative ' ideas that tear apart the core service, a huge business with no care experience trying to turn medical into business. I could go on for weeks.
