Pros

There aren't many. Ability to work from home is nice. The area surrounding the business is well kept.

Cons

Pay is weak. On call schedule is rough. Serious lack of work/life balance. Management is hypocritical and has unrealistic expectations. Favoritism is obvious depending on the client.

Pros

The people are good, and mean well. Benefits are good. Pay is pretty decent.

Cons

Company constantly changing leadership structure, escalation path, and roles within the company, so it is almost impossible to ever know what to expect. It definitely did not give any sense of stability because of all the change. Worse still, the expectation that all employees are available 24/7/365 is unrealistic. Worked for Virsage for several years, and ended up leaving because for that whole time, I was told that the unlimited overtime (unpaid) would be temporary. Averaging 60-65 hours a week, with much of the overage in the middle of the night, was impossible to balance against having a life outside of work.

A great opportunity if you're willing to put in the effort

Pros

I was the longest tenured employee to work here aside from the company founders. I found it to be a great opportunity where my position grew and changed over the years. The owners are good people to work for. They are fair, but they expect people to put in a solid effort, to continually learn, and to stay current on technology. If you're willing to learn, can solve problems, take responsibility, and never forget about the customer's needs, you can do very well here. You will get a ton of exposure to different clients, industries, and technologies. Hard work is recognized and rewarded. Initiative and ownership are always encouraged. Good ideas and talent are more important than seniority.

Cons

Like any small business, we sometimes end up taking on work that might best be avoided. Demanding clients with solutions that are one-offs can sidetrack more important work. On-call shifts can be challenging.
