A good company to work for

Pros

The team spirit is really good which made work so much more enjoyable as at time workload can be really heavy. The benefits are also really good and are no longer just gimicky. things like medi-cash have really saved a couple of hundred pounds. Culture is generally good too but some pockets of negativity around restructures but its understandable when people risk losing their jobs

Cons

Pay isn't top of the market but its by no means below market average. the benefits do really add up and the flexilbility is always there. Comms were pretty average but have really improved in the last year as the company has been going through change, never felt like I was out of the loop

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review, it really means a lot, especially coming from someone who’s been a part of Visualsoft for a number of years. It's great to hear that you enjoyed the team spirit and found real value in the benefits we offer. Things like Medicash and flexibility are areas we’ve worked hard to make genuinely useful to everyone, not just nice to haves. We completely understand your comments around restructures and communication, it’s been a big focus for us this past year to be more transparent and consistent as we continue to evolve. It’s great to hear that those improvements are being felt. Thanks again for your feedback and for your contribution during your time with us. We wish you all the best for the future!

Pros

The staff are some of the best people you could hope to work with. Friendly, helpful and extremely talented at what they do.

Cons

The platform is beyond dated, to the point that it’s not really fit for purpose. Documentation is almost nonexistent making it a nightmare to work on. Clients almost exclusively dictate changes/new functionality whether it makes sense or not. For such a large company, the lack of ambition or innovation at the top level is concerning. To give this some context, there have been more rounds of redundancies and ‘rebrands’ over the last 5 years than there have been major product releases. There’s little to no opportunity for progression unless someone moves on. I don’t think this is as much of an issue on the agency side of the business as staff turnover is quite high, but the dev side are a loyal bunch so opportunities are few and far between. Wages tend to be on the lower side, but you know that already by the fact they don’t include them on their job listings. Pay progression is hard work, although they do usually give a blanket increase after redundancies to keep morale up, so not all bad news. It’s hard to comment on the current CEO. When he joined the business he spoke about opportunity, culture and the importance of a close knit team, only to make 35+ people redundant a month later. When asked for a statement about the redundancies his reply was ‘What do they want to know’ followed by radio silence when he was given a list of what we wanted to know. Actions speak louder than words I guess.
