Pros

They pay well, that's it! (But it's fool's gold!)

Cons

My advice; do NOT work for VISY. Pay is tempting, BUT it is a nasty, toxic environment with corrupt, self-serving, deceiptful leadership. Smart people realise quickly and leave (I wish I had been smarter!), but be warned, Visy sinks the meat hook deep. They will drain your soul and destroy your family. Manager's that prosper and survive in Visy are morally bankrupt, unethical, brutally self-serving and self-protecting. If you think of working for this company, be diligent, research the corruption, it's well publicised and it's all true (just know that you're only seeing the tip of the iceberg!), Visy is still run by the same people and the same owners, they just shuffle the pack every few years. You have been warned, there are much much better companies to work for!!

Decent job, but need to get rid of office politics.

Pros

Good pay Close to public transport and shopping On-site parking Flexible working arrangements Lots of opportunities for progression and growth Good team support (IF you have the right Manager).

Cons

The amount of toxicity within the offices is absolutely disgusting. People will happily throw others under the bus to make themselves look better. There is very much an "us vs them" attitude, ESPECIALLY from the staff who have been with the company for 10-15+ years. The staff refuse to change and adapt to new technology and new processes, and will often do very underhanded things to get ahead. Unfortunately, the majority of management (especially Sales, in my experience) are completely fine with overloading their staff when there are resignations, and not hiring replacements or extra people. This has personally happened to me and resulted in weekly migraines and a mental breakdown until I moved departments and now work with an extremely supportive Manager and team.

Toxic uninspiring management

Pros

Just very few are inspiring managers not from the last division I was working at.

Cons

Toxic management environment. Some non deserving people are given leadership positions who are absolutely not only unqualified but lack EQ, questionable technical competency , unwilling to learn new skills and possess a superior ill mannered attitude that would definitely see the boot if this was in another organisation. Some within the leadership and coworkers alike spend too much time pointing fingers and name calling but spend less of a time to have a good look at themselves. Managers spend too much time ingrained in gossips and politics rather than understanding the skills required regarding the task they are looking after. Appalling understanding of fundamental skills given the roles they responsible for but never given the consideration by management, always embroiled in personal KPIs. A time bomb i the making which obviously the reason why corporate is considering relocating half the team to a more competent and efficient team overseas.
