I think you've got the wrong company, we've never employed anyone in Canada and don't hire Social Workers.

Pros

Great base salary for recruiters, perfect for those who are "self-managed" with an achievement mindset. The team likes to have fun and celebrate wins. Recruiters treat each other fairly and are willing to help when asked. Scot, the president, is very kind and caring.

Cons

Conflict of interest because of the relationship between CEO and operations/HR. Can't complain or disagree with management. Culture could be more collaborative. Training is not as good as claimed, sort of a sink-or-swim attitude toward recruiters once they get ramped up. If you are not doing well, the advice is "do better" but they don't tell you how. Most people don't stay at the company for more than 2-3 years so it tends to stay the same size.

Pros

If you are interested in getting into technical recruiting, VitalSource is a great place to look. They train you on everything you need to know and give you the tools to be successful.

Cons

Be ready for a very metrics-driven work environment. There are good and bad sides to that - transparency is great and you always know where you stand in the pack, but if you are not successful at hitting your goals on a weekly basis, it can be a stressful work environment. On the flip side, if you are successful and prove yourself, there are opportunities to make good money and move up in the business quickly.
