Pros

The office location is decent

Cons

I'm fairly confident most positive comments were fabricated. It was a shared sentiment that the owner built a toxic work environment with some serious trust issues. There was some borderline between unethical and illegal practices, such as no vacation allowed in the first year, very strict office hours (an hour late = absence), and more. They made everyone sign the term to accept these rules. Lots of sticks but no carrots. They hire mostly newcomers who are happy just to have a job. Stressful and high turnover -- most people leave within a year.

Pros

Nice office located at Dt Vancouver

Cons

First of all, all positive reviews are fake and posted by senior management, or by an employee who is "forced to post" as part of their review. This is a not only cheap but also toxic company. All the contents from other negative reviews are relevant. They micro-manage people and except you to stay with no leaves at all as much as possible. No vacation is granted within the first year. A sick note is required for even half day leave otherwise it's considered absenteeism. No personal days. No personal use of phone at work. They expect you to be tied to your desk all time, all year round. Pay is low. They do pay you the range as advertised in their JD but only the minimum number. They shifted part of that range to the "bonus" part which is never guaranteed. Benefits come in after 6 months. Again there's some grey areas between being ethical/legal, and they are quite sneaky on that. They don't trust their employees. They always pre-assume people would steal their secrets. There's background check conducted annually (even more strictly than a bank). They forced people to sign a bunch of consent forms such as no vacation taken during the first year, which is barely legal, and not ethical. They installed monitoring software on your computer to watch your screen time and activities. They require you to work 8 working hours a day with a 30-min lunchbreak and they watch it closely. They had fired people on their birthdays, right before the end of their probations, and at 8pm on a workday so they don't have to pay for the next day. They like saying "we are a family". Hell no, family does not treat you like that. They treat you like slaves. Turnover is high. Most people leave within or around one year either voluntarily or were let-go. In a word, avoid this company at all cost. The culture is so toxic from the top management and there's nothing you could change about it. Do not waste your life.

Free Friday Lunches Quick Interview & Offer Turnarounds Small but competent team Free snacks and coffee Medical and Dental Benefits

Cons

Lots of business strategy pivots. No revenue model. Software development takes a back seat at a FinTech company? Low morale. Paydays not being paid out on time. 1-2 week delays without reasons.
