Pros

Nice package of benefits Colleagues are supportive The truck is a very exciting product

Cons

Many of the old practices from the legacy OEMs are being repeated, the fresh air and excitement of being part of a start up is starting to dissapear. Micromanagement, impossible targets and toxic environment. Human resources is very shaddy. You need to be lucky to land in a decent team.

Discriminatory pay

Business outlook

Pros

Lucky to have very good people

Cons

Pay levels are not fair across the board. Many people that join earn more than their managers even. Some internally promoted are told their isn’t the money to pay them their banding. Others are given the money. Bringing in new exec team on large salaries when they say they have no money to pay the dedicated senior managers leading big teams and stressful roles. There are men that are doing exactly the same role as women earning £30k more. Despite the woman having more experience. No women on board. A lot of men in suits. Insulted that their resolve is to create a ladies group and LGBT group. How will that resolve? Shall we sit around and knit would that make you feel it’s ok to not pay women the same. In todays world women shouldn’t be paid less then men. It’s appalling. Again HR leading the business decision around pay rather than sense.

Volta Trucks is fully committed to being an equal opportunities employer. In a traditionally male-dominated industry we have had significant success in attracting female employees, and we constantly monitor and act to reduce any gender pay gap that may exist. In this regard, it is absolutely untrue to suggest any male in the company is paid £30,000 more than a female to do the same role. All salaries and employment offers are made irrespective of gender, in agreement with direct managers and HR, and taking into account local laws and our own salary scale.
