Pros

The title basically says it all. Though I can give one pro. For the most part, the people you'll be working with are cool. And it's a lax environment, which helps. Overall, if you're looking for a first job out of school or are trying to get your foot in the door at a tech company, it's a halfway decent option.

Cons

Bottom line - if you're seeking a company to enjoy a promising career, this is not the place for you. Vuria is honestly not run very well to put it simply. You have an owner who cares about his bottom line first and foremost, who commands loyalty but offers no incentive to do so, and who treats a select few as first class while alienating others - leaving them feeling expendable. However, if you're a 'yes' man, you might just make it far here. Some do and they're proud of it! I was there under a year before I had enough. I never had a single review or raise - even after taking on another set of responsibilities for 2 months not at all related to my job description when another person quit and they were trying to find a replacement. There was no recognition whatsoever. Of course, others who started at the same time as me and even far later have had multiple reviews and received raises. What kind of way is that to run a company? This was the worst place I've worked for. And for developers and especially project managers - be prepared to work many hours at home playing catch-up because of unrealistic deadlines, too many projects thrown on your plate, and the fact that the company is purposely understaffed. I'd also like to mention that the sales people are masters at taking advantage of clients. And it's just not right. Yeah, we get you're trying to make a living, but there's always a right way and a wrong way to do things.

Fast paced environment. Horrible management.

Pros

The company is a fast paced environment. You can learn a lot from current employees. Projects are all different so gives you a chance to experience with different clients.

Cons

Company is all over the place when it comes to management. Due dates are ridiculous. Always last minute projects. Horrible work environment. A lot of lowkey drama and gossiping. Some employees do not play their rule and feel as if they have authority over others when they clearly don't. Benefits are somewhat okay, pretend to be an agency lifestyle but they're clearly off the chart from that. Unlimited snacks? I think more like pretzels and coffee. Heath care is still is very expensive.

Needs more engaged management

Pros

* Everyone is friendly, and there is a good workflow and process for everything. * Good benefits package. * Very competent non-managerial staff. The Project managers are A+ great people and so are the developers. I sincerely enjoyed working with them.

Cons

* 90% of the web development is being outsourced to Ukraine. * High employee turnover. Management fires people after a year or two saying they are "restructuring", then hires someone new for cheaper. Not only is this really unethical, but it makes for a hostile work environment. * Owner is distant, rarely in office, and when he is, never talks to any of the employees. * Zero job security. Management does NOT care about you or your well-being. All they care about is how much you cost them.
