Pros
I have been with the college almost 20 years and I honestly couldn't imagine working anywhere else. Yes, we have had our problems, usually around the reduction of Government funding, and as a result of that, recruitment. But there are many first class, dedicated, knowledgeable staff members who's only focus is the success of their learners and the student experience. We have a fantastic student cohort, where all want to learn and be successful in their chosen career subjects. I personally feel being part of that and helping these young people achieve their goals is a gift and I look back on my years with WCG with many happy memories of students I've taught, peers I've laughed with and learnt from and the many additional skills I have gained over the years. We all know, you never forget that one person/teacher that inspired you, so what an amazing thing to be that person. We live in a time where its all too easy to jump on social media a slate companies for mistakes that were either out of their control or largely our own doing. WCG is still a great place to work and indeed to learn. Long may it rain as a first class education provider.
Cons
As with all Further Education providers, the key issue is the reduction of Government funding. Additional investment will result in a stronger young workforce and an improved economy.
