Deceptive and Disappointing

Pros

One of the requirements for working here is that you must have a valid drivers license. However, they don't really check that, so if you have a suspended licence don't sweat it cause' they won't check it. You can even drive the company vehicles. Another plus is that they don't care if you drink company provided alcohol at their events. They will pay you while having drinks. That's pretty cool.

Cons

Don't work at weave if you have a history of abuse. Employees are not able to utilize the free services they provide to the community. If they find out you may wish to utilize them they WILL fire you. They expect you to work over time and NOT claim it on your time card. If you do, you will get in trouble. If you bring up that you have a problem with this they will seek revenge on you. If they don't fire you beforehand. They will make up lies and will defame your character. The HR will falsify documents and lie to keep "company costs to a minimum." Also, don't ever tell them about any personal health problems because if you do, it's only a matter of time before they will fire you, cut off your benefits the same day. They dont care if you have chemo treatments starting the same month. They will fire you for fear of having to pay for any expenses related to this. As far as donations are concerned, 90% of what you donate they go ahead and sell to goodwill. The safehouse kicks out residents if they don't like your name or, you have loud children. They have an abundance of supplies yet refer residents to utilize other organizations for supplies, diapers, tampons, shampoo, clothes, etc. They have a ton yet don't give it to who really needs it. They would rather sell it to goodwill. This company has no integrity. They only care about numbers and even admit that their grants require their employees to work 3 jobs and not just the position you were hired for.

Biggest disappointment in my work career

Pros

The pros are the co-workers you meet when you work there; there's a shared misery in the environment so you never feel alone.

Cons

The management and directors; these are money hungry, privileged white women, with the exception of ONE black woman on the team despite WEAVE's new "diverse" mission. This organization is hyper-focused on it's appearance and looking good to uphold it's reputation instead of putting in all their effort into helping people who have been abused and keeping their employees happy. The turnover rate is fast because managers and directors absolutely DO NOT CARE about their employees and making sure they thrive in their career. They will only promote "yes people" and people who look pretty instead of driven people who are passionate about helping victims and survivors. Do not be fooled by their reputation.

Toxic, abusive employer

Pros

Most of the front line staff/direct services staff are some of the nicest, kindest, best humans you will ever meet. Working with such authentic, kind, dedicated people was amazing.

Cons

Senior leadership is a toxic clique. They engage in abusive behavior and openly have no respect for any staff outside of their group. There are known offenders who have burned through staff over and over and over, and they flatly refuse to change. Until the CSuite is cleaned out, I worry for the people who come onboard. Senior leadership is also seriously tech averse, and so the organization is stuck in 1999 with outdated and backwards policies and procedures. Benefits package is one of the worst I've ever encountered. Leadership is not authentically invested in DEI initiatives.
