Pros

The only positive aspect of the company is the remote work option, allowing you to set your own hours as long as you complete your tasks. The paid time off (PTO) policy is adequate. Previously, under Scott's leadership as CEO, PTO was frontloaded, but it has since switched to an accrual system that allows it to roll over. Here’s how the accrual works: - 1-2 years of service: 2 weeks of PTO - 3-4 years of service: 3 weeks of PTO - 5 or more years of service: 4 weeks of PTO You can accrue an additional week on top of the standard PTO. The benefits package includes two personal days, three bereavement days, and five sick days, which are separate from your PTO—a feature many companies do not offer. Overall, the health benefits are decent. If you choose to work here, you would sacrifice low pay and career stagnation for the benefits mentioned above.

Cons

Be cautious when reading reviews before 2024; that’s when the former CEO, Scott, still owned the company. After he sold it, the new CEO seems solely focused on numbers. He has yet to hold a company meeting to introduce himself, leaving employees unclear about who’s in charge. They have been laying off at least 3-4 people each month, typically those who were earning decent salaries under Scott’s leadership. The workload of those laid off is then redistributed among the remaining employees without any raises. Additionally, we just lost our raises in April, which were actually meant to address inflation but were falsely presented as regular raises. Opportunities for advancement within the company are virtually nonexistent, and the workload is excessive for the low pay. While my management team is supportive, I can't say the same for everyone else’s experience. Many long-time employees are leaving. If you had asked me two years ago whether I would recommend working here, I would have said absolutely. But now, I strongly advise against it; the organization feels chaotic and disorganized.

Pros

Fully remote/ WFH if you'd like/ don't live near an office. Flexible hours, as long as you get your work done.

Cons

Everything else. Old CEO is a coward and jumped ship when the going got tough. New CEO doesn't really seem to care about people, just growth/ numbers. Has yet to hold a meeting and talk to us; instead, just sends out emails. Layoffs are a regular occurrence now. No more bonuses, no more raises, no more COLA--no matter how much extra work is piled on. We are all looking for new jobs, good luck WTWH.

Great coworkers overshadowed by toxic management culture

Pros

When I began working at WTWH, I was greeted by intelligent and friendly coworkers. I think the people really are what made the company a place I like to work for.

Cons

A few years ago, WTWH partnered with a private equity group in efforts to rapidly grow the company. They offered "shadow stock" to employees that they could cash in after a few years if the company hit its aggressive growth goals. I had heard about all the horror stories about private equity, so I saw the writing on the wall and began searching for new roles in the background. From every interaction I've had with my ex-coworkers since leaving, it seems like my concerns became a reality. Over the last few years, WTWH has let go of a huge number of veteran editorial, creative, and other business support roles. Not because of poor performance, but for executives to squeeze every drop of money they can from the company. Naturally, these fired employees also forfeit the "shadow stock" the company had told them they had accumulated while working there. Sorry no more bonus for you. If you are an individual contributor, be ready to have higher expectations put on your performance than most of the leadership. And sales are always put in priority above anything else. If you are in an editorial or content creation role also know that anything you do will always be secondary to anything the sales team decides they randomly want to sell to clients that day. This company felt like it had some kind of soul when I joined, but now that I am removed from it I realize how toxic it has become. The WTWH of today is unrecognizable from what it was even a few years ago.
