Toxic. The women at the county in leadership are power hungry. Specifically, in the downtown Raleigh office. Angela Crawford, the HR Director was livid because another woman was hired and did not disclose that she was pregnant. Angela said she would not have hired her even tho she is a mother and knows what it is like to be a women, mother, and partner.

Benefits are decent based on employee only cost and coverage. Employee health center is provided to employees, fitness classes are provided at select locations

Cons

Work environment is highly stressful and demanding. There is not a lot of room for growth and opportunity. Employees usually stay in the same role for 5-10 years. Program managers micromanage staff, are poor at establishing positive working relationships with staff and are not receptive to feedback. Efforts are not made to reduce heavy workloads and management seems to have an inability to make a direct impact or contribution to solve problems. Folks, there is no sense of all hands on deck here! The work environment and expectations are draining and overbearing.
