Pros

The work is interesting. There are many kind, helpful and ridiculously smart people that work here. People that will try and contribute in any way they can even if it’s outside their comfort zone. These people are the only reason I gave two stars.

Cons

Unfortunately, there are enough manipulative and/or truly awful human beings that work here to overshadow any kind of pleasant atmosphere. I have seen some truly remarkable individuals just worn down to a shadow of what they used to be. Wasted potential and unfair promotions. Repeat broken promises. Over working and under paying. Looking the other way and wearing blinders just to avoid dealing with the real problems. Focusing on superficial problems instead of core issues.

Take the good with the bad

Pros

Your job is secure. The owner legitimately cares about the employees and even in hard times has refused to lay people off except as a last resort. Also, getting fired for poor performance is almost impossible. The shop floor employees legitimately care and take pride in manufacturing a quality product. When engaged and given a voice, they always perform. There is opportunity to grow professionally and take on additional responsibility if you’re willing. The company puts on a lot of employee appreciation events and is willing to spend money on training.

Cons

Be prepared to manage up. Promotions based on nepotism and seniority have placed ill equipped managers in leadership positions. The inter office politics can only be described as toxic. Getting cross functional groups to act as a team is nearly impossible and simple disagreements seem to fester into resentment and anger for no reason. The cliques hinder communication and are often used to hide problems and create false narratives. The fact that these include many key people allows the few bad apples to run rampant and creates chaos when employees aren’t reined in.

Pros

Did not micromanage employees, you can do whatever you want and screw up as much as you want, if you are like by certain managers, you will not lose your job.

Cons

Too many people in different departments and locations try to be in charge. Very confusing who is going to pull the blanket to their side. If you dare to get on someone's bad side, make a mistake, especially related to Louisiana location, you are as good as gone. They will make your life miserable by pointing out every mistake out on mass email including President, vice president, CEO, anyone in blue moon.
