MBAs Over Machinists: How to Tank a Job Shop in Record Time.
Pros
Great talent and even better people. The shop floor is run by hardworking folks who treat you like family.
Cons
Formerly Wauseon Machine, currently Steelcrest Precision: Personally, gave a few years of loyal 110% service to this shop before new management arrived and wrecked it. These are not decent people. Despite never having swept a floor, deburred a part, or touched CNC coolant, they believe they know how to run a job shop. In this industry, an MBA is worthless if you don’t understand the trade, and their incompetence has tanked a once-great business. With talented machinists gone and customers fleeing, they boast about an ‘open-door policy.’ Don’t be fooled: they’ll greet you with a smile one day and fire you the next to protect themselves. To make matters worse, the family-owned capital company that owns this machine shop venture are untrustworthy.
