Title: A Nightmare Unleashed: Wavenet's Abyss of Despair Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ My recent stint at Wavenet was nothing short of a horror show, and I feel compelled to warn others about the abyss that is this company. The management, if you can call it that, displays a level of incompetence that is beyond belief. Attention to detail is not just lacking; it's nonexistent, as if it were actively avoided. Working at Wavenet, you quickly realize that you're nothing more than a replaceable cog in their malfunctioning machine. The prevailing attitude among employees is apathy, summed up perfectly by the recurring mantra, "It's not my job." This creates a toxic culture where responsibility is a foreign concept, and no one cares enough to make any meaningful contribution. Wavenet's grand strategy appears to be acquiring companies left and right, not for innovation or progress, but to cook their financial books. The lack of any semblance of structure is mind-boggling, and the company's idea of employee care after acquisitions is essentially non-existent. You're thrown into the chaos, left to fend for yourself like a sacrificial lamb. Adding to the chaos is the complete absence of planning for onboarding new acquisitions. Every month, like clockwork, a new company is devoured with no regard for a smooth transition. It's a sink-or-swim scenario, and drowning seems to be the preferred outcome. But the real kicker is Wavenet's blatant disregard for its smaller customers. Unless they have the potential to line Wavenet's pockets with millions in the first few months, they might as well not exist. It's a ruthless game of profit over people, and the casualties are the smaller clients who trusted Wavenet to care about their needs. In conclusion, if you enjoy a workplace resembling a sinking ship manned by a crew of indifferent zombies, Wavenet is the place for you. But for those seeking a fulfilling career and a company with a shred of humanity, steer clear of this corporate nightmare. Your mental well-being and career aspirations deserve better than what Wavenet has to offer.

Pros

Work with some great companies to provide their services. Some genuine people in the organisation that try their best to help.

Cons

Overall, the company is in a challenging and declining state. Significant redundancies have been made, and no pay increases have been offered this year. However, this contrasts sharply with the substantial investment currently being made into refurbishing the offices. There is a clear and overwhelming focus on preparing the business for sale, resulting in cost-cutting measures across virtually every area of the company. As others have noted, a "sales tax" was introduced that deducts a percentage from the total contract value. This deduction is then taken from the profit margins — the very metric on which sales staff commissions are based — which has understandably caused frustration among the team. The current environment has led to a noticeable drop in morale, with many employees adopting a "sloped shoulders" mentality. Support for staff is minimal, and there’s a pervasive sense of micromanagement. Autonomy is lacking, with many systems heavily restricted, creating a culture that feels more controlling than empowering. The main motivation for writing this review is the recent email sent to employees asking for positive feedback. Given the current state of affairs, I believe it’s important that an honest perspective is shared.

Pros

Good stepping stone to work for

Cons

No staff loyalty, will bin you off at one of the frequent acquisitions, work harder for less pay, change your job title without consultation, no organic growth of existing customers, like a junkie trying to score that next big contract or company to purchase, say they are growing well, but laying off over 120 people right before Christmas.
