Pros

All the engineers and general employees are great to work with, supportive, and friendly

Cons

HR department has too much responsibility within the company and stifle promotions. The only way to move up is to have tenure, with no emphasis put on performance. Their system rewards everyone for doing nothing and does not inspire anyone to perform well. They underpay the employees and play favorites with their own. Company is also in a bad financial situation that has spurred mass layoffs.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate and value your input and are glad to hear you enjoyed working with your teammates. The goal of Weber’s HR team is to support employees, and we are sorry to hear you felt differently. This includes providing career development paths, offering full tuition reimbursement, training employees, and supporting health and wellness programs to name a few. Our compensation and promotion processes recognize employees for their contributions. To ensure a fair review of all employees, we base promotions on the position’s required qualifications, including the employees’ development of necessary job-specific skills and organizational competencies. Promotional recommendations are submitted by the management team and reviewed by HR to ensure the above criteria have been met. We have begun to review the current incentive program to be more in alignment with the objectives of the company. The layoff you’re referring to was necessitated by the uncertainty/delay of the Boeing 737 MAX program and its immediate impact on the business. Throughout the decision process we were committed to our values of treating employees with fairness and respect, values which shape our past, present, and future.

Pros

Full time work. Paid vacation, holiday & sick days

Cons

No room for growth. Each time its brought up, we're told we need more experience. Those that are promoted are by means of favoritism rather than work skill. The majority of supervision cannot use our systems efficiently. They ask those who are not management or supervision for help or to do their job. Seniority and favorites are promoted. This is because they agree to every single request by their superiors. Fast pace environment. Management rushes us always in a hurry to get work out and meet monthly goals. Cannot efficiently ask for help because it is not provided. Most of the issues we come across or equipment breaking down results in a quick fix in order to continue working. If we do not follow orders to hurry up, we are seen as insubordinate employees. Schedules are not flexible and offer mandatory overtime. They work us to the bone and fatigue our bodies on a day to day basis. They deny time off for their benefit of getting the work out because of “being short staffed” . Meetings are held to determine solutions to problems but its just an excuse to drive us away from the real issue. equipment breaks down and fingers are pointed at us. equipment is not functioning properly and we are forced to continue operating it otherwise they will be behind schedule. If we dont use it, they make us work faster, do overtime and sometimes 7 days straight.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us, and for the work you do - the Die Forge department is an important part of our goal to make quality forgings. We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention so that they are appropriately addressed. We are understanding of your experiences with the pace and hours of the company. The organization has gone through a lot of growth and change all at once. This has resulted in increased efforts from everyone, which we recognize and greatly appreciate. Our recent growth has also included the implementation of new technologies and processes that are not always perfect the first go-around, but we really try to learn and adapt. We know we still have a journey ahead of us. We are looking at this period of growth as an opportunity to not only expand our technical capabilities but our working environment as well. With initiatives geared toward leadership development, improved work schedule modeling, and clearer avenues of growth, we are continuously trying to improve many of the challenges mentioned above. We highly encourage you to discuss your concerns with your manager or contact the HR department. Our intention is to make Weber a place where every employee wants to come to work each day. Thank you again for your input. It helps us make Weber a better company for everyone.

Pros

Competitive pay. Other parts of the company besides Quality are great, healthy environments.

Cons

Terrible working environment in Quality. Management is dictator-like, does not support employees or provide more knowledge. People are unhappy, scared, and leaving good paying jobs.
