Getting worse

Pros

Love the location, near Bart and bay bridge. Friendly folks in general

Cons

Unclear if the company (or the SF team) will be around in another year. Not sure where all the series A funding went but we have been in cost-cutting mode the last 6+ months. Company downsized from a year ago with many managers/execs now gone to better places. The team in India really suck (in quality...mind you they are nice and hardworking people) but the CEO doesn't realize it (or refuse to admit it) because they are cheap and was the team that he used to bootstrapped the company. Product is buggy and getting a lot of customer complaints--engineering has done little to rectify this.

Pros

My team had a strong camaraderie when we were there

Cons

I was a former employee so you may take my review with a grain of salt, but the company was poorly-managed at best when I was there. The Founder CEO last year hired a bunch a people post-series A, but misled everyone/failed to disclose that there were still a few millions of financing not closed. Team was given unrealistic goals and timelines to turnaround the business in a few quarters, despite the fact that a lot of things were broken and would take time to fix. My team in Marketing for example was given the marching order to double/triple traffic and leads in a quarter, despite basic things such as tracking and attribution still missing. Every week, the conversation was very short-term on why we didn’t hit certain phantom WEEKLY lead number that was defined by the CEO and Finance. In short, it was a poor environment to be successful. The company is now in cost-cutting mode now with sales and account management moved to Phoenix. That’s actually not the problem for the company as we need real leaders in the company who understand how to fix things methodically. Until then, I don’t see how this company can be successful in the long term.

Pros

- office location and view

Cons

A company that has been around for 10 years that received funding but couldn't deliver. KPIs, Metrics, Processes, Numbers, Commissions change all the time. Quota goes up, quota goes down. A game on a regular basis. The company is laying off very loyal employees and ending programs as well as cutting budgets. The ship is obviously going down. Faster than Execs might think. If you are interviewing, don't waste your energy and time. You deserve better, much better! Execs are great story tellers, but do not believe a word.
