Pros

The other employees at the company are extremely talented and you can learn a lot from them.

Cons

Accepting a job at this company was the worst career decision I've made. The CEO/Founder is impossible to work with and does not know how to run a business or manage people. The CEO is an extreme micro-manager who is distrustful of all of her employees. She is demeaning and rude to employees and interns and her mood swings are more volatile than the stock market. She is incapable of remembering anything you say or email to her which causes her to bombard you on a daily basis with emails asking you for information you've sent or told her numerous times. It is extremely disruptive to your productivity and sanity level. She will change her mind on a daily basis so that no employee is ever on the same page regarding policies and procedures. Despite the feedback she is given from frustrated employees, nothing ever changes nor will it ever change. The turnover at the company is excessive. Staff stays out of necessity to get a paycheck. No one gives 2 weeks notice when leaving. Nothing ever goes smoothly onsite at an event because she is a horrible manager. She will disappear for hours at a time during set-up where no one can get any response from her. Don't think this means you can actually make a decision in her absence because no matter the decision is it will be wrong. Do not expect to do the job you believe you were hired to. EVERY staff member at the company is a sales person but don't expect to make commission unless you are specifically hired to the sales team. Although you are given PTO you will be expected to work over any PTO taken. Health insurance is offered at 50% reimbursement but I have yet to see or hear of any employee ever taking advantage of it because the rates are so egregiously high. You will spend far less paying for your own insurance. There is no 401k option. The company is not growing nor will it ever progress as long as the CEO remains.

Pros

The people I worked with were bubbly and friendly and I honestly hope I get to work with them again in the future somehow. The shows are entertaining.

Cons

Almost everything. I worked for Wedding Salon for only a short amount of time and was completely unhappy for the entire duration of my employment. The CEO and Founder is an EXTREME micro-manager. She knows this and is "working on it". I myself did not see much improvement on this front while I was there, but am told she was much better when I was there than previously and actually HAS improved which is a shock to me. You are required to send her an email every single day detailing every single thing you did besides eat lunch and go to the bathroom. There are security cameras everywhere in the office recording everything you do and say and from my understanding, she would regularly watch the footage. I was hired under somewhat false pretense. I was told in my interviews that my job would be only 25% sales, something I had ¬never done before and I was hired as a "Tradeshow Manager". However, on my very first day I was cold calling and doing practice sales calls with other employees and my title magically changed from "Tradeshow Manager" to "Communications Concierge" which is not something I would have ever applied for in the first place. I was consistently asked why I wasn’t making enough calls on days that I had other tasks to do. When I talked about how I was uncomfortable and unhappy in my role with the CEO she declared that "I was being weird about it all", focusing on “low hanging fruit” and I "should get a Tinder profile to let off some steam" and that I wasn't doing "sales" like I thought but "client communication". However I had a sales goal to reach and one other person and I were responsible for 75-80% of the sales for an event but made NO commission (there is a bonus pool everyone is eligible for but there are strict rules on how you become eligible for it). The benefits at this company were horrible. The health insurance is insanely expensive (I think she chose this so that people don’t choose it so that way she doesn’t have to reimburse anyone for it), she begrudgingly gives off only the minimum amount of days required for her to do by law. There is no 401k or retirement savings options (despite what she may be saying in interviews) and there is no HR department for when you are uncomfortable or need to talk to someone. She has fairly regular company outings after work but they are not worth all of the headaches that you deal with on a daily basis. Overall, if you LOVE sales and bridal and don’t mind being micro-managed this is your dream job. Otherwise, STAY AWAY! Everyone in the entire company does sales (regardless of your qualifications and job title ie: the office manager and the CEO’s NANNY make sales calls and send email blasts). I honestly don't know how this company has stayed in business this long.

Toxic Work Environment

Pros

If you are in the PR/Marketing or Production department you will add to your resume and network with some great contacts should you be interested in the wedding industry, however if you are on the sales team you could be anywhere and add the same things to your resume and avoid a lot of stress. I was in the PR/ Marketing department. The wedding industry is fantastic, it was wonderful working with amazing partners! I learned a great deal at a very fast pace.

Cons

The CEO, is EXTREMELY hard to work with. I am a very passionate, hard working, resilient, tough, career oriented person and I have never had someone come close to, breaking me or putting out my fire until Tatiana. Employees are put in a situation that sets you up for failure. You have have ZERO flexibility to make decisions that would be best for the company. Instead, ALL decisions, are made and approved by Tatiana in an IMMORAL fashion. In my time there, I was the longest standing employee of the company after being there for only 8 months. Everyone quits or gets fired. If you make it there a year you are SERIOUSLY a trooper. It was truly upsetting being an employee working long (lots of hours) and hard for the good of the company and being treated so terribly. And it was even worse watching other people suffer the same and just bit your tongue and be professional. In all honesty, the company would be FANTASTIC if it had the opportunity to grow, however it can't because no employees can make it past three months. No one is there long enough to learn how to be truly efficient at their jobs and make meaningful relationships with vendors and partners. The only way the company could reach it's potential would be if someone else took over. Unfortunately the way she treats clients, vendors, employees really hurts the business. I write this review because had I known what I was getting into I would not have taken the job. These reviews are not made up, they are real. Please read them and take them into account before dedicating your life to this company. Review your options, make a smart decision. There are SO many amazing companies out there who will give you the resources to succeed.
